1981 Pontiac TA Special Edition Factory 4 Speed, Build Sheet, Good/great Paint, Original  Doe Skin  Interior, Numbers Match

Car needs freshened up I just started up and pulled out of garage has not been out in 3 years 

It did start up just has old gas in it which probably needs drained white smoke comes out. If it doesn’t sale I will refresh and get fluids all changed. T-tops are ok condition plastic is cracked on both.

1981 Factory Y84 Special Edition 4 Speed Trans AM which still retains its original numbers matching  transmission and factory build sheet.  This Y84 Trans Am is very rare being only 1 of 932 ever built in its original configuration with a 305 Factory Chevy Engine and 4 Speed manual transmission.  This is the only doe skin interior w/manual transmission that I have seen over the years, This SE is loaded with factory sought after options like WS6 performance handling package, Factory Air Conditioning, Posi Traction, 4 wheel disc brakes, Y84 package, factory 3.42 rear gears.This special SE TA features very nice factory correct Starlight Black paint with SE decals, the original factory drive line, the original factory build sheet came from behind seat, origins manual,  This Trans Am has 4 rust spots in the lower corner panels by doors, very solid with great lines and gaps.  There is no cracked paint anywhere on the body some scratches and little dent here and there not perfect, The underside is very solid and not covered up with cheap spray paint.  There are no rust concerns anywhere on the frame, floors, trunk, or tail panel.  This Trans Am is finished in the most beautiful and most desirable color combinations of Starlight Black (code 19) over Black deluxe cloth interior.  This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above and included Build Sheet.  These special low production SE 4 Speed Trans Am's are some of the most sought after collectible TA's on the market.  They continue to increase in value.

I just recently went to Nashville cmf hall of fame and they have a nice bandit on display in the museum very cool  to see in museum.
  

Exterior

The Starlight Black paint is in good/great condition I’m not sure if car was repainted, I’ve owned it for over 10 years There are several factory markings and tags throughout the underside of this TA  There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos.  The tires are good/great condition with full tread left and are correctly sized 225/70/15 and the original factory turbo wheels are in excellent shape with correct center caps and lug nuts.  All weather stripping and window sweeps are in good condition, window rubber seal are cracked I have replacements for both just never put on, Trunk is very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire and jack, The original spare tire appears to have never been used from the trunk other than the speakers I had someone The  back speakers are not original speakers with The exhaust on this TA is factory correct as the 1981 4 speed TA's shared the drive line and exhaust with the Camaro Z28's including strait pipes over splitter tips coupled with the 305 Chevy engine.  

Interior

The Doe Skin cloth interior of this Trans Am is in great stock condition not perfect but original to car, The interior has light fading.  The original carpet is in good/great shape with no major stains, rips, or holes.  The original dash is in good condition with a crack in dash piece ripped off by gas peddle, no warping, and no fading.  The dash bezel are original and in ok condition some wear, The original AM/FM Cassette stereo looks great in the car and works ok  just doesn’t play tapes well, The original door panels are in good condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact.  The headliner is the correct perforated material and is coming unstucked, All interior and exterior lights and gauges seem to work as they should including the clock and cigarette lighter.  The horn isn’t working , wipers, and blower motor on all speeds works. The factory AC system is fully intact and blows air not sure if working as I haven’t driven in 3 years, 

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in good mechanical condition and runs and drives good needs refreshed and gone threw to run at it’s best, Most importantly the original engine and original transmission are still in the car and in very good working condition. I have driven this TA numerous times and it runs and drives ok needing a tune up and handles great.  The exhaust system is in good shape and I believe original to car. it does ride tight, and is always a joy to drive.  The smiles, thumbs up, and attention you get driving this car is unlike any classic car I have driven.  and the car handles and performs very well.  This Trans Am is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. Power windows work, The brakes work, the engine bay is very unmolested with several tags and factory markings still in place, The engine is clean and factory correct.  There is a lot of originality under the hood and throughout the car.
