This is a steel dashboard car with a 5 main bearing engine,a non synchromesh first gear, wire wheels, and positive ground. The unusual VIN is a replacement issued by the Utah State Police after the original tag was stolen from the car. The engine, number 8GB U-H 23374, is original. The car runs quite decently. The engine received new bearings, rings and a valve job 10,000 miles ago.  At the same time the transmission got new bearings and a long lasting steel synchronizer for second gear.

To “put the top down” the cloth top and the top bows are completely removed from the car, as shown in the pictures. The top is rolled up and hung in the slings inside the car. The slings can be seen in one of the pictures. The top bows are folded and stored in a bag in the trunk. The bag is not in good shape.

The floors and rocker panels shave been replaced, and the lower parts of the fenders have been repaired with patch panels. The doors have been repaired with fiberglass. The interior door panels are shot. The top is marginal. The tonneau cover has a tear near the zipper but otherwise looks fine. The hardly used passenger’s seat is in good shape, but the driver’s seat is not. The threads on the right rear axle are slightly fouled but workable. The tachometer reads high, but all the other instruments work. Another tachometer is included. The radio is out of the car. It does not work. I could not fix it, but maybe you can.

The car is fun to drive. It is very responsive, and you are very close to the ground, which gives you a completely different feeling from that experienced in most cars.
