INTERIOR: Stunning red interior and it looks practically new from carpet to headliner. It also continues the lightweight theme with radio, heater and cigarette lighter delete. Beautiful upholstery with correct vinyl/cloth and chrome piping. Door panels were replaced. Carpet fits without wrinkles. The white headliner and visors are excellent, dome lights work. The dash area is beautiful and although it lacks comfort features it does have the push button transmission. It also has red seatbelts in the front.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 426 Max Wedge III actually has a trick up its sleeve too! It's been stroked to a 505 and Dyno tuned at 623 hp and 652 lbs of torque! Detailed invoice from Wheeler Racing Engines is included along with the Dyno sheet. From the outside the motor is absolutely factory stock including the manifolds, valve covers and stickers. On top is the cross ram intake with dual 4 barrel carbs. All off which is restored like new. Every bracket, relay, clamp looks new and correct. The fender tag is attached. Under the hood has the cut-out bracing to accommodate the dual carbs.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The battery was relocated to the trunk from the factory. This gave more room in the engine compartment and a little more weight over the rear tire. It has the correct vent tubes atached to a reproduction battery. The battery that is being used is a modern sealed battery. It also has a never used reproduction BFG Silvertown tire for a spare on a painted rim.
UNDERSIDE: Yes, it's restored like new under this car but there are some important unique features to its authenticity I would like to point out first. It has more leaf springs on the passenger side, the spacer on a rubber snubber, nuts welded in rear frame rails preassembly, oil pan, and of course factory exhaust dumps! All the steering, suspension and brakes have been restored. The exhaust looks like new. The fuel system was replaced. Looking up at the motor it is spotless and the correct casting numbers and date are visible. It has the heavy duty 727 Torqueflite automatic and it took is restored like new. A rebuilt driveshaft leads back to the 8 3/4 rear end with 4.56 Sure Grip gears! The floors are immaculate and painted gloss black.
SERVICE: We inspected this car and it passed with flying colors. The speedometer is off because of the crazy 4.56 gears!
This car is right; it is from some serious Mopar collectors that know these cars. This VIN number is listed in Darrell Davis' book as a real car. We've sold tens of thousands of cars; this is our first lightweight. This is a very rare opportunity to own one of the toughest cars of the muscle car era and most are race cars. This is arguably the best one, period.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
