1958 Pontiac Chieftain. Sacramento Autorama 2014 Best of Show. Grand National Roadster Show 2015 Best Of Show, Suede Palace. Absolutely stunning build that will win awards wherever she goes. A piece of automotive history that will be enjoyed and appreciated for generations to come. A few highlights:
Original steel, nosed and decked. Door handles shaved with remote access. Chieftain badge replaced with Bonneville star. Two ’60 Oldsmobile grilles sectioned and flipped. Body work by Paul Gilbert.
PPG two stage uerethane paintwork by Mike Parsons. Pinstriping by Paul Cameau. Scallop design by Eric Black. All chrome replated and all stainless polished. All glass and weather stripping updated.
Mint green and cream vinyl tuck and roll by Guy’s Interior Restoration. Bonneville tuxedo carpet. Stock instruments with Stewart-Warne auxiliary gauges under dash. Amp gauge converted to volts. All new wiring. Brand new battery. Pleated fender inserts.
Stock 1958 Pontiac Chassis. Stock front and rear suspension with cut and heat treated coils, new shock absorbers. Power drum brakes. Fronts just completely refreshed. Powder coated 15” 1956 wheels on Coker radials.
Stock 1958 Pontiac 370-cid V8 with 4bbl Edelbrock carb, electric choke. Magnaflow exhaust, lakes pipes with diverter to mufflers and resonators. Hydramatic 4 speed automatic.
Multi-national show winner and dozens of Magazine covers and features, including 12 page spread in Rodder’s journal.Car sat in storage for several years and was moved every couple weeks to keep systems fresh. Recently put back on the road and is running beautifully. Passenger door sticks out 1/8th of an inch on lower rear corner, have not tried to address in anyway. Trans will hiccup slightly if you put your foot in the carpet. With regular cruising manners she is just fine. Stays nice and cool even in warm weather traffic driving. Heater blower currently non op, have not trouble shot yet as its only driven in nice weather.
