This is a 1988 300ZX with a manual transmission in dark blue(BG7), only 772 in this color were produced that year. I bought it with a blownhead gasket (I thought) as a pandemic project. After engine removal andinspection, a full rebuild was done. After all the much-needed work to the300ZX, it can now be driven anywhere reliably. The following has been replaced:
Full engine rebuild including pistons, rings, oil pump, water pump, and timing belt
Windshield
Front Struts and shocks
Front brake calipers
All brake pads and rotors
All poly bushings, including the sub-frame
For the bad:
I put the small dent on the front fenderbacking out of my garage.
There is a slight whine in the rearend(differential).
The radio and A/C were removed by theprevious owner and are still missing.
After all of the above was completed the 300ZX now runs and driveslike the performance car it was designed to be. The car has been driven under 1000 miles sincethe engine was rebuilt and it has an oil pressure of 30psi at an idle. I’m running out of garage space and need toreduce my collection of cars. Come check it out and drive it home.
