It is with apprehension that I decided to part with a member of the Family. 1958 Series two, 88” Land Rover. Ebay did not have the model listing for a Series.
In 2007 I purchased Sally from the original owner. It spent the majority of its life in Clear Lake, Ca. on a orchard farm. I have all the original documentation, title, pictures, Factory service book, the precise mileage before/ after the complete rebuild.
2007 I disassemble the truck down to the frame. I have pictures of the whole process. Frame was blasted, primed then painted two coats, enamel. Each body panel painted by separately by a shop in San Jose, ca. Not a spec of rust on this truck. It was stored in a barn in Clear Lake. My ownership, it has always been stored in a garage and covered.
I also have the receipts for the rebuild and parts.
The changes I made from original can be restored back if desired. The list,
1. Added Lap seat belts.
2. Installed a chevy alternator. Have orig. Gen.
3. Converted truck to negative ground.
4. Added and eight circuit fuse box.
5. Installed Warn locking hubs
6. Added an Aooga and trumpet horn.
7. Added underhood light.
8. Have both the hard and canvass tops.
9. Carter carb, instead of the orig. Solex
The truck has 4540 miles on it since the rebuild completed in 2010.
