1940 Ford Deluxe Woodie Station Wagon

This is a beautiful old 1940 Ford Deluxe Woodie Station Wagon. It has all original wood, I'm guessing maple and birch. It has a very good running flathead V-8 motor with 27,000 miles showing on the odometer and a three speed manual transmission on the column. It also has a rare Columbia overdrive 2 speed rear axle, which is the only way to drive out on the open highway. All running lights headlights high and low beam and tail lights work fine along with turning indicators (blinkers). It also has a horn, a heater and a working wind up clock and 12 volt electrical system . The motor starts easily and runs smoothly with no oil leaks and no smoking. The transmission also runs quietly and shifts smoothly. The brakes work great with disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. The radiator keeps the engine running cool with no overheating. The light color yellow paint is older but shines up nice. The black painted fenders look very sharp but they do have some stress cracks and minor chips here and there, see photos. The rubber coated metal running boards are in very good condition. All chrome bumpers and accessories are in very nice condition. All of the windows work as they should roll up or sliding with no cracks. There are a few clouding or fogging spots in the corners of the sliders from age. Back tailgate all works as it should, up and down. The interior seating, all three rows have very nice matching beige color vinyl with no rips or tears, it also has full carpet throughout the floorboards. Very nice dash board with all gauges working. In the glove box there is a working JVC stereo radio with disc player and several speakers around the cabin. The overhead headliner is beautiful varnished wood with the outside top being a nice light brown vinyl. The tires are Goodyear 255/70R 15 in excellent condition with chrome beauty rims. No rust anywhere. This is a cool old '40 Ford Woodie ready for home town car shows or cruising the beach or countryside. The two minor problems are the brake lights just stopped working and so did the speedometer. I think the hydraulic brake switch failed and needs a new one installed. As for the speedometer I'm not sure if it is a cable or connection. I am not a mechanic so I have made an appointment to have these items fixed but the shop is 6 weeks out waiting time so Sept 10th is the best they could do.  I'm sure these are minor problems so I have decided to list it as is. I have tried to be as honest as I can describing this Woodie. It is a great vehicle and loads of fun. I think I have priced it very reasonable and hope someone finds as much enjoyment as we have. I have a clear Washington title in my name with current tags. I will help with loading into your transport and will provide a video of the loading process to send to you.
