Here’s a beautiful 1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible previously owned by a professional restorer and now available from the MaxMotive Pittsburgh Showroom. The restorer cared for the car for 37 years and then it was passed on to its current owner about 12 years ago. The engine was upgraded to a 239ci Flathead V8 (larger and more powerful than the stock 221ci mill). It’s a smooth runner and it sounds splendid though the chrome-tipped dual exhaust system. An electric fuel pump aids in starting and driveability. A column-shifted 3-speed manual transmission adds to the vintage driving experience. The paint is Cloud Mist Gray, a striking medium green/cyan hue that works very well with the tan canvas top. The interior is a rich brown with bench seats. Of course, there are plenty of chrome accessories such as the spotlights, fog lights, and mirrors. The hubcaps are also chrome with red “Ford Deluxe” lettering. The tires are appropriate Firestone Deluxe Champion wide whites. In the clean and spacious trunk, you’ll find the convertible boot and a spare tire. One of the truly iconic models in the classic car world, this 1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible is an outstanding example of the breed. Please be sure to see the detailed photos at
