I bought this car in 2015 south of Kansas City. I live in Des Moines, IA. It has a total of 93,756 miles (3,295 from new odometer, 90,461 from old).
Upgrade strategy: Prioritize safety; keep it close to original when replacing parts; make it a cruiser...not a powerhouse; keep the original parts.
Since purchasing it, I have done the following upgrades: - New tires and wheels - Front/rear disc brakes to replace front/rear drum brakes with dual master cylinder - OEM suspension replacements as needed - Radiator, alternator, spark plugs/wiring - Rebuilt original 289 engine (3,295 new miles) - Rebuilt original transmission (3295 new miles) - Installed new aftermarket sound system - all speakers are new and radio is Bluetooth capable with microphone - Upgraded dash console and odometer (mileage is combination of original odometer 90,461 plus new odometer of 3,295) - Speedometer cable - Starter - Air filter - 2bb carburator - New dash - LED lighting: halo headlights, parking lights, brake lights with sequential turn signals, interior lights - I kept all parts original to the car when I bought it - I will provide to new owner - Bulk of servicing records on hand
