1966' Plymouth Belvedere PROJECT....very well along project not in zip lock baggies for you to sort through. Hello! I have up for sale a nice 1966' Plymouth Belvedere 2 with the 318 "wide block, or poly head" engine. Car has 8 3/4 rear thats non posi. Automatic Transmission. Car still retains its 1982 inspection sticker from the sunshine state! This car has a little bit further to go to become a very nice Belvedere. Floors were very solid and tracks straight down the road. The 318 engine sounds excellent, no valvetrain ticks etc. Quiet as can be. The car does need its continued restoration. The car has just been freshly painted last month and its a head turner! Not a show car, but 7 out of 10 paint and the body is really close to laser straight! The best part is all the side chrome is in great shape and those hard to find gas caps everyone wants 800 a piece for is also there.
The car needs a transmission overhaul. The car will go in reverse and shift through all of the gesrs but primarily only drive around a block or so because it does slip quite a bit. The brakes are a little spongy and I have to fill the master cylinder up once every couple times I have it out. No brake fluid sitting on the floor so I'd say probably wheel cylinders need replaced. All interior pieces in tact in the car however really the interior needs a restoration. Headliner is tore, seats are in great shape for the age and door panels could use some attention. Again, depending on the amount of money you want to spend on it really to be a nice driver wouldnt cost much more. The gas gauge doesnt work and probably just needs a new tank and sending unit from sitting. Put a new fuel filter on and some fresh gas and the car fired up and again the engine purrs great. So, thats pretty much it and everything I've learned about the car over having it the last 12 years. Other things in life have popped up and just like everyone else sometimes you have to consider letting stuff go. These cars are going anywhere from 25k-50k depending on what you are searching for. Again, this is still a project so I feel my reserve is fair considering whats out there today and the price point.
This vehicle is 58 years old and because of the age is being
