Moving across 2000 miles across the country later this year and don't want to take it with me. 1998 5th Gen prelude for sale, great car with a few minor quirks listed below:
Upgrades / Changes:
Enkei Rpf1 Wheels
(I can throw in the OEM wheels too for free but one is a bit scratched up, they have old all season tires on them.)
Pirelli Ultra Summer Tires
Vented Rotors
Larger Red Calipers
Red Powder Coated Valve Cover
Silver Trim Under Windows
Metal Radiator
Aluminum Crankshaft Pulley
No Slack in Throttle Cable (no damper)
Clear oem headlights
Working AC / Heat
Working Radio / CD / Cassette
AUX cable added, when playing a blank cassette, audio will come from the aux instead. Can still play normal cassettes.
K&N Filters + Royal Purple Oil, I have a few unopened containers I can include.
Issues:
Sometimes getting into first from a stop requires double clutching, it's like the gate doesn't open all the way so maybe it's an issue with the clutch pedal hydraulics. But it's pretty minor, only happens sometimes and can be mitigated by shifting into first while rolling up to the stop or taking off in second if you're not in a rush. All the other gears work fine.
Valve cover seal leaks a bit, so it drips a bit of oil, not much, but I can include an orange metal pan to keep the ground under it oil free.
Fuel in there is a bit old, I added some stabilizer but haven't driven it much this year, so the battery is a bit weak too but I'll charge it before sale.
Cosmetics:
Some under paint rust near the back right wheel, I wouldn't jack it up on this jack point as the rust is nearby, you can still get it off the ground using the other 3 jack points plus the 2 in the back or the tow point in the front, just avoid the back right one.
Looks like the left back wheel well had some bondo work done to repair rust at one point, doesn't look too bad.
Hood has some weird spots on it, a bit of small rust at the front, minor. The bumper is missing some clear on the top , not too rough though
Bit of clear coat coming off on the c pillar.
Some itty bitty dents from someone opening their car door into it, they're quite small.
Small scratch on the back left bumper.
All in all, the usual wear and tear for a car this age. With a bit of body work and some easy maintenance the car is excellent.
