Introduced on February 26, 1970, the second-generation Camaro was produced through the 1981 model year, with cosmetic changes made for the 1974 and 1978 model years. The car was heavily restyled and became larger and wider with the new styling. Based on the F-body platform, the new Camaro was similar to its predecessor. It had a unibody structure, a front subframe, an A-arm front suspension, and leaf springs suspending a solid rear axle. The 1980 and 1981 Z28 models included an air induction hood scoop with an intake door that opened under full throttle. The RS SS package was dropped in 1972 and reintroduced in 1996.
This very nice Z28 was stored for many years and purchased out of an estate by the seller, a well known restorer. Work undertaken since acquisition include a Complete Brake Overhaul, Rebuilt Carburator, New WIndshield, New interior, Wheels restored and Powder coated and New tires. The car runs and drives very well and is ready for the road. The original Build Sheet was found and preserved as well as it could be. The date code on the engine is from 1971, we are unsure when it found its way into this car, it could well have been replaced in 1971 for some reason.
This is a great opportunity to get a real deal Second Generation Z28 that needs nothing really to be immediately enjoyed.
Please note the Drivers side remote control mirror has been replaced since these photos were taken.
