1999 BMW M Coupe powered by a built, turbocharged M52 engine putting out 485 rwhp. Same power-to-weight as a gen 5 Viper, but in a short wheelbase car with no traction control. Wild, raucous, and not for the meek. Clean Virginia title, no accidents, 79k miles, rear subframe reinforcement is already done. Five speed manual, BBS RG-R forged wheels. The car has had a PPI done (below), ahead of this sale.

The M52 engine has Wiseco 8.5:1 CR 84.5mm pistons, Eagle connecting rods, ARP main studs, ARP head studs, VAC Motorsports stage 1 head with high RPM dual valve springs, VAC Motorsports oil pump upgrade, VAC Motorsports stock thickness MLS head gasket, Steward high performance water pump, S52 camshaft, DR VANOS stage 2 VANOS, 80 lb injectors, M50 manifold, Active Auto Log turbo manifold, 6766 T3 Precision Turbo, CES 3" 800hp intercooler, Tial BOV and Tial wastegate, Fluidyne larger radiator, S54 oil filter housing, E36 euro oil cooler, AEM meth kit (trunk mounted tank; controller in glovebox), and twin-disk clutch rated for 800 hp. Tuned for 91 octane pump gas currently; likely can make far more power, based on similar builds. The engine build has ~2000 miles on it, with the 6766 turbo having less than 1000 miles.

The PPI was performed in the last 100 miles by a reputable BMW race specialty shop. The CEL is on, which they noted is due to an EWS code (alarm system), intrinsic to the engine swap, and a mixture deviation bank 1 code that they believe could possibly be tuned out in a re-tune, but may also be permanently present intrinsic to it being turbocharged. They also noted a series of very minor leaks -- at the oil pan, valve over, where the VANOS oil line connects to the oil filter housing, and the power steering lines leaving the reservoir -- these are all 'sweating,' but without drips. They described the car as 'face-ripping fast' and commented that it's 'one of the better running turbos we've ever seen -- most turbos don't run quite right, but [this one] is solid.'

The subframe has been reinforced. It's on HR coilovers, with brand new rear shocks. The wheels are powder-coated BBS RG-R forged wheels in 19x8.5 front and 19x10 rears, wrapped in 245/35 front and 275/30 Toyo Proxes. The tires show plenty of tread showing but have 2016 date codes and should be replaced due to age. In the cabin, air/fuel ratio and boost gauges are mounted to the driver's side A-pillar. There's an upgraded head unit with Bluetooth, USB, etc, with a massive subwoofer in the trunk. The airbag light is on for unknown reasons.

The car has a newly installed 3M 2080 Gloss Sky Blue wrap over an Anthracite Grey respray that was done sometime in the early 2000s, inclusive of door/trunk jambs. The underlying paint has some oxidation and chipping. No rust; the car lived in California and Nevada until it was bought by the prior owner in Virginia in 2018. It is now physically back in California, but remains titled in Virginia.

The car comes with two keys, fobs for alarm/remote start, a BMW car cover, and a replacement uncut sub panel for the trunk, in case the new owner wishes to remove or relocate the meth system to the engine bay.

I have sold cars on eBay Motors previously and am happy to coordinate pickup on this end if you're having it shipped. Please feel free to ask any questions.

This Clownshoe is a great car. Not just "great for a tuner car," or "great for a 25 year old car," but genuinely a great car with lots of love (and money!) poured into it over the years. I'm excited for a new owner to continue the build and enjoy the hell out of it.

Thank you for your time and attention. Happy bidding and good luck!
