I own and operate a European Auto repair shop called Precision Motors in Tarzana, Ca. where I converted this 2012 VW GOLF GTI into a mid-engined street legal  track  car.
Since the same engine and all the same original smog equipment has been used, there haven't been any issues smogging it in California.
It took over 2200 hours and cost much more than what I'm asking.
It has the following upgrades:
1 - Complete large water cooled intercooler system w pump and radiator
2 - Complete huge engine oil cooler w fan and thermostat
3 - Full suspension package
4 - Numerous ECS and other performance components and short shifter kit
5 - Porsche Cayman "S" shifter assembly...NOTE - Shifter pattern has changed, refer to the posted picture diagram
6 -Fuel cell located in front
7 - Custom instrument gauges and a COBB tuner , $700 value, w custom maps
8 - Dialed in suspension and spring rates
9 - Much more...

Vehicle has a clean title and drives very DOT, ...you can use it as a daily driver if you wanted to.
Very well balance  and easy to drive.
Basically a modern 80s era European RALLY car...like the Renault R5 or Peugeot 205s.

The DSC and ABS- or stability control and the tire pressure monitoring have been disabled - hence the lights are on.
The AIRBAG light is on, since the rear seat belt buckles have been removed and the overhead roof airbags removed.
Custom made extenders added to knuckles to correct and maintain proper control arm geometry.
Custom exhaust w no muffler, very quiet since the turbocharger and 2 catalytic convertors muffle the exhaust noises.
This car is complete and ready to be driven to any track day or HPDE w no issues.
