This auction is for a 2013 Tesla Model S finished in Pacific Blue Metallic (paint code PMMB) with the black interior and Matte Obeche wood trim. It’s best to view this listing on a desktop or laptop computer. A smartphone won’t give you the same details. The Tesla Model S was the first pure electric luxury car to sell in significant numbers. It puts out no tailpipe exhaust emissions or greenhouse gases. This Model S is powered by a 400 volt lithium-ion battery pack powering a AC induction electric motor putting out 362 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque at ZERO rpm. It’s mated to a single speed fixed gear transmission rear drive unit connected to the rear wheels. An electric motor puts out its maximum torque at ZERO rpm, and with 325 lb-ft on tap from a standing start, acceleration is explosive to say the least. 0 to 60 mph in just 5.0 seconds. When combined with a smooth and seamless flow of power available from a transmission that never has to pause for a shift, along with the absence of noise from an internal combustion engine, you get a driving experience like no conventional cars can offer. You will have a grin on your face every time you step on the accelerator and leave most other cars in your wake.

This is a fully equipped model S that had a base price of $70,000 in 2013, but with over $10,000 in options, the total price was over $80,000. With tax, title, tags and additional dealer markup (read rip-off) because it was a hot model, the original owner got little change back from their $90,000 bill. The Tesla’s powertrain combined with excellent aerodynamics and numerous energy saving features, allows the Model S to get an amazing EPA rating of 94 mpg gas equivalent (mpge) city and 97 mpge highway. The Tesla electric motor is fed by a lithium-ion battery pack that can be recharged at home by plugging in to any standard 110-volt household outlet with the included charging cable. That cable comes with a 220V adaptor so if you have an electric dryer, you can plug into the dryer outlet for even faster charging of just a few hours. You can also install a 220V outlet on the outside of your house or in the garage if you don’t already have one. And if you already have a charging station, I can take $150 off the sale price if you don’t want the included charging cable and adapters. If you plan to travel with your Tesla, you can charge at Tesla’s proprietary Supercharger stations at an even faster rate. In addition, with the charging cable adapter, you can charge at any conventional third party charging stations as well.

This Model S has numerous energy saving features including LED taillights, electric power steering and air conditioning, regenerative braking that makes use of energy that other cars waste while braking and coasting by recharging the battery pack, low rolling resistance tires and a host of aerodynamic tweaks. A curved front bumper and rounded nosecone smoothes out airflow in front of the car, retracting flush mounted door handles smooth air around the car, and under-car airflow is aided by a completely sealed underbody, as the aerodynamics under a car are just as important as above it. The result is a drag coefficient of 0.208, which is one of the lowest of any production car, let alone a 7-seat sedan.

Not only is the Tesla economical to drive, it’s also economical to maintain, being as close as any car maker has come to producing a maintenance free automobile. Without a conventional internal combustion engine or multi-speed transmission, the Model S requires no oil changes, no spark plug and plug wire replacements, no fluid filter changes, no timing belts or valve adjustments, no transmission fluid service, etc. Plus there is no exhaust system, muffler, catalytic converter, oxygen sensors, ignition coils, fuel injectors, etc. to wear out. About the only routine scheduled maintenance for a Tesla is cabin filter replacements and checking brake pads and rotors, all of which have just been performed. And if you are into being green, then besides emitting no pollutants, the Model S may be eligible for numerous perks such as being able to drive alone in the HOV carpool lanes without a passenger, being exempt from annual emissions inspections, free or reduced parking rates at downtown or airport parking lots, reduced annual registration fees or initial sales taxes, etc. Check your state or local government for more details.

Tesla has many innovative features and upscale content only found in more expensive vehicles, plus a few that are not found in any others. The keyless access and start system lets you enter and start your car without ever taking a key out of your pocket or purse. When you have the remote key fob anywhere on your person, the door handle extends to greet you as you approach the vehicle and lets you open the door. You can also set it so that the handle extends when you lightly touch it. To start the car you don’t need to fumble looking for your keys or press a start button either, just step on the brake pedal and the car is on and ready to go. Telsa’s One-Pedal driving mode blends the functions of the accelerator and brake into a seamless driving experience where you rarely have to remove your foot from the accelerator pedal. Just taking your foot off the accelerator when you see traffic ahead slowing down, commands regenerative braking that brings the car to a stop with minimal use of the brake pedal. This function can be turned off in the display screen. An on-board timer can be pre-programmed to recharge the battery at a set time such as during off-peak rates to save on your electric bill. Through a smart phone app, you can remotely open or close the windows and sunroof, monitor charging as well as be notified when charging is complete, and even turn on the air-conditioner or heater. This function can be used to pre-heat or pre-cool the car prior to use while it is still connected to a power outlet so the interior is at a comfortable temperature and less energy from the battery is used for climate control. A back up camera displays the view behind the car whenever you select reverse, and grid lines aid in parking. An illuminated charging port with color charging indicator lights let you visually see charging progress far away from the car. The heated seats keep you comfortable without using the more power consuming heater as much. LED headlights use less power and produce greater visibility and LED tail lights provide faster reaction times for those behind you.

This Tesla Model S is in excellent condition inside and out. The paint looks beautiful with deep gloss and shine, and this shade of Pacific Blue metallic just about glows in the sunlight. Depending on the intensity of light, it may vary from a dark blue to sapphire blue. It has paint protection film (PPF) on the entire hood, fenders, bumper, nosecone, mirrors and A-pillars. The body has no dents or even any noticeable dings. It has been fully detailed, first with Meguiar’s Iron Decon to remove iron particles from the finish, then the paint was cleaned with Meguiar’s Smooth Surface Clay System to remove embedded contaminants, next it was polished with Meguiar’s M110 Mirror Glaze polishing compound, and finally topped off with Meguiar’s M27 Pro Ceramic Hybrid Sealant for a durable long lasting brilliant high gloss shine. The headlights look crystal clear and even the inside of the wheels were cleaned and waxed. How obsessed is that? All the glass, moldings, trim and emblems are excellent. In addition, this Tesla has all it’s underbody panels installed. If a mechanic forgets to replace a panel or you run over a curb and break one off, your economy may suffer as the aerodynamics under a car are just as important as above it. If you are looking at other Model Ss for sale as well, check underneath and make sure all the following panels are still intact as they are not cheap to replace.

The interior is in great condition as well. It has excellent upholstery, carpet. dashboard and door panels with no cracks, rips or tears or any significant signs of wear. The car comes with a set of factory carpeted floor mats, and it doesn‘t appear to have been smoked in. In fact, it’s not even equipped with a lighter. Both the frunk and rear cargo areas look like they were never used.

Mechanically it runs and drives excellent. The motor and “transmission” are nearly silent and silky smooth. The steering wheel is on dead center going down the road with no shakes or vibrations at speed, the brakes are firm with no pedal pulsations or pulling to one side when stopping and the suspension is tight. The A/C blows ice cold. It has a matching set of Continental PureContact LS EcoPlus tires all with great tread. These tires combine an all-season M+S rated tread design with excellent grip in dry conditions for shorter stopping distances as well improved traction and handling in rain and light snow. They feature EcoPlus Technology, which provides reduced rolling resistance for maximum range, maximum comfort, less noise and superior tread life. In fact, these tires have an amazing 700 treadwear rating and came originally with a 70,000 mile warranty. They have been balanced with stick-on wheel weights mounted on the inside of the wheel for a super clean look.

The car has been fully checked out and found to have been well maintained and serviced with nearly $2,000 worth of recent parts and maintenance so that only your enjoyment rather than your immediate attention will be required on delivery. Some of the items checked include:
