1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

For consignment, a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette coupe with a 327 and in the second most common color, Marina Blue.  Goodwood Green was produced in the most numbers with 4,293 leaving the factory in green.  With only around 23,000 Corvettes built in '67, all of them today are considered uncommon or rare, regardless of color.

Exterior
If you said this is the most beautiful American car ever designed you'd have a solid case.  The lines molded into the fiberglass simply all work together is a sinuous flow of bulges and curves, and the Marina Blue does well to highlight it.  Raised fenders flow back to a shoulder line that accentuates the sloping rear which ends in the point of a spear, borrowing depth from the curved rear window.  Side pipes and their vented covers provide the sleek sports car with a muscular attitude and the 15-inch Chevrolet Rally wheels are the perfect fit. The Sting Ray hood is embellished with a white stinger but the rest of the car is adorned in blue and along with the metal work and well minded panel gaps, looks fantastic.  Imperfections are limited to a couple of minor scratches and chips.

Interior
White plastic door panels appear cleanly on each side.  Is the white as bright as it was one day one?  Probably not but still completely presentable.  The white leather bucket seats however, look fresh with some minor compression from use and the desirable headrests which were vinyl from the factory.  Bright blue loop carpet covers the floor and the cargo area and is in excellent condition, while the headliner remains tight but shows some underlying texture toward the front.  A 3 spoke wood rimmed steering wheel fronts the eyebrow dash which holds a gauge cluster in black plastic and silver rimmed dials arranged in a symmetrical pattern and accompanied by a series of knobs and switches.  The center waterfall stack, lined in blue, has a clock, more knobs, and the vertically mounted AM/FM radio.  The passenger's eyebrow houses a glove box with a name plate.  A Hurst shifter resides in the center console in an aluminum plate that shows some usage and a padded blue armrest.

Drivetrain
Pulling the hood forward reveals a very clean date-correct 327ci V8 topped by a 4-barrel carburetor and rated at 275 horsepower.  It's backed by a Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission circa 1968-1970 that sends power to the rear wheels and 3.08 gears with Positraction.  Power disc brakes are on all four wheels.  The A/C belt has been removed.

Undercarriage
All clean underneath with no surface rust nor leaks to speak of.  The dual exhaust flow directly to the side pipes and suspension consists of coil springs up front and Corvette's system of a frame mounted differential, tubular axle drive shafts, transverse strut rods, torque control arms, and transverse leaf springs.

Drive-Ability
Never a dull moment when you're piloting a 4-speed C2.  The wonderfully white and blue interior creates an airy environment and the 327 makes a glorious noise it emits from the side pipes.  Great acceleration, handling, and braking were observed, and we then proceeded with the functionality test.  The following items were inoperable during our test: the horn, the wipers, speedometer, odometer, trip odometer, and radio.  And of course, with no belt attached to the compressor, A/C would not work.  All other functions worked as they should.  While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Here's a final year C2 Corvette in stunning Marina Blue that would be a showstopper at any outing.  The classic lines of the Vette along with the stinger hood and side pipes render this car an iconic piece of American automotive history and well worth a look for the discerning collector.  Car Specialists are standing by.
