For your driving pleasure.

I bought this Porsche S2 - 8 years ago when I worked behind a desk. It was my second 944 and was my daily driver to work and back for 11.2 mile round trip during spring, summer and fall only. I bought it with 144,000 miles on it and now the speedometer shows 155,367. It probably has 2,000 more miles on it because the speedometer broke 2 years ago. It is an easy fix though. I replaced with stock items the entire struts, springs and strut bearings in the front along with some bushings. Replaced the motor mounts. Got rid of the hideous after market tires and rims with the correct offset stock Porsche phone dial rims from a Porsche 944 Turbo. Much better look than the stock S2 wheels while retaining the stock geometry. The tires I put on the car are Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. Front being 205/55 ZR16 and the rear are 225/50 ZR16. This is the stock size and is a great tire for driving when it is under 50 degrees out. Using this tire there is negligible tram lining. The clutch and brakes work as they should and plenty of adjustment left on the clutch. The interior is in decent shape. I have the invoices for all the parts I installed in the car as shown. The engine starts right up, burns no oil and has great oil pressure. The transmission and torque tube are in need of replacement. They were when I bought it. Interesting enough I drove it all 8 years with no problems. I sourced a torque tube and shipped it to Florida for powder coating and to have super bearings put in it. I don’t have the invoice for that but my recollection is it was $1700. I also sourced a proper non LSD transmission from a car that had 65,000 miles on it. No invoice for the transmission but those sell for around $2000 now. There is a set of rear axels and transmission mount also. They all go with the car. When I got the car I replaced the water pump, thermostat and all the rollers and belts. Those have about 13,000 miles on them. The tools to set the belt tension come with the car as well as a crank shaft lock. Last fall I bought a full set of belts and they come with it with many gaskets, spare switches and various other parts. A full set of shop manuals come with the car also, approximately a $500 value. I also replaced the timing chain slides, upper and lower when I replaced the belts. New AGM battery one month ago. I really like the car and just no longer use it as when I “retired’ from my desk job I went back into construction. My wife and I own 4 vehicles and this one just sits around taking up space. This is a 35 year old car and is not perfect as it was a driver not a garage queen. 1 of 3600 S2 Coups brought into America. Sold as is with no warranty.
