Thank you for your interest in my curious yellow 1971 Plymouth Road Runner. I am listing this as a non-running PROJECT due to engine blowby as can be seen in pic #7 of the rear end. Oil specks are visible above each exhaust pipe.
I started the process of having a 383 magnum rebuilt late last year to replace the tired non-original 440 but my Mopar experts shop has had not 1 but 2 untimely deaths in their racing family in the last 2 years all but bringing their 3 man operation to a standstill. RIP Jim Sr. "Cooter" and Tom Wroe.
Adding insult to injury when slowly towing the car out to wash the front passenger tire exploded steel belts through the center of the tread never seen such a thing caused it to kiss my other car which is the damage to the front passenger fender shown in pic #14. Current tires are Coker redlines 225/70/14 with ZERO miles.
I purchased the car on eBay from a seller in New Brunswick Canada which has no title requirement for vehicles 25 years or older. Ohio not so. I was told 20 years ago when I bought this as more of an investment than a driver I should seek a title from a neighboring state. Logically since the vehicle passed U.S. Customs with no issues via a transporter in the Philadelphia area who held temp bill of sale from the Canadian owner to his company I suppose to facilitate the border crossing this threw a wrench into the gears. Pennsylvania would not grant title to this car due to the N96 air grabber hood stating that it is not street legal and would block the driver's view. So having just become a new dad I was forced to carry on believing that Ohio may some day come around. Today it requires a $300 scheduled visit to common pleas court (best have a lawyer) along with out of state inspection forms completed by less than cordial state trooper scrutinizer office is an hour away and it must be trailered to and from. Since engine is not original to the car just asking for a VIN nightmare possible impound who knows.
For that reason I am compelled to sell this with a bill of sale from myself to the new owner and will include all the U.S. Customs documents including EPA form, transporter temporary bill of sale, and original Canadian registration. ***eBay requires title type so I put "clean" since it's not got a lien, rebuilt, salvage, water damage or whatever else choices they list.
OK that's my situation thank you for letting me vent a bit.
The car came to me with new fuel tank, slapstick center console and white bucket seats which I figured was better than a column shift bench. Never got to recover the seats in black but they are in fine condition no rips tears and quite clean. The seat release buttons work great and lock in place as new.
The dashboard and Tuff steering wheel are pristine as are the door panels and carpeting. Road runner cartoon floor mats will be included. I removed them to show excellent condition of the carpet and driver foot vinyl area.
The transmission was full of water and the rear brakes were put on backwards so that was an immediate expense that was done by my Mopar guys.
The headliner was not put in correctly and has a couple small tears so needs replaced. Included are correct sail panels (pic #24) which were missing and causes the headliner by the rear windows to look wonky.
I will include what I believe to be nearly everything you need to put this car back to what it was 53 years ago.
Pic #11 is brand new trunk mat.
Pic #12 is correct 3464960-93153 jack not easy to find.
Pic #13 is a rear sway bar setup which is from a 1972 but will fit and improve stability.
Pic #15 is driver door glass to replace small chip on corner. All other glass is perfect and windows roll up and down quite smoothly.
Pic #17 is a badly applied decal viewed from driver side.
Pics #19 and #20 are several sales brochures and glove box literature excellent shape not stained or ripped up.
Pic #21 is decals for air cleaner lid, "air grabber" lettering for exterior N96 flapper, teeth for side of flapper and 383 call outs for just above front fender turn signals.
Pic #22 is decals for rear turn signal surrounds and rear valance. Back bumper came painted which I'm not crazy about but figured the decals would be an improvement.
Pic #23 is 10 items from top: slapstick handle, console ashtray for backseat smokers, "beep beep" horn, dome light and housing, hood pin cables, pentagram for passenger side lower front fender, door mirror base gaskets, windshield wiper blades, 1971 only rally wheel centers, and actual Mopar locking gas cap.
Pic #25 is under hood air grabber/air cleaner gasket
Pic #26 is a complete set of taillights and all 4 side markers.
If there's anything else I've left out I will update auction as soon as possible. If you would like additional pics of something I will gladly oblige. I will make myself available if you would like to stop and have a look or have someone else inspect it for you. I also welcome questions and will answer to the best of my ability. Please don't hesitate to ask about the smallest thing you may be unsure of. I am happy to work with your transport company as long as they can pickup at my residence and have a winch for the purpose of loading.
Disclaimer: There will be no returns or refunds partial or full of any type. I accept wire transfer only from your financial institution to my bank. Thanks for your understanding and have a fabulous week.
