Just in time for it’s 50th birthday, I’m selling my 1974 Mustang II hardtop coupe with a clear title. This model is as basic as you can get. Automatic transmission, with no power steering, no power breaks, no air conditioning. Engine is the base 88hp 2.4L Lima I4. Odometer reads 78486. I purchased this car two years ago, only put 300 miles on it, and have had a blast cruising around town and going to car shows with it. It turns heads everywhere it goes. Has been garage kept and has not seen a drop of rain since it has been in my care. Unfortunately with changing life circumstances, I need to let someone else take care of, and enjoy this hard to come by model. Trust me, it’s great to be the only Mustang II owner at any local car show. Other than fluid changes, I haven’t done any major work on the car. That being said, here is the list of issues that need to be addressed:
Basic engine tuneup. Ran fantastic up until last winter. Now after sitting for those months, it’s running a little rough. Small fuel leak near where the fuel line enters the gas tank. Fuel gauge does not work. Horn, heater fan, and radio currently do not work. Could be as simple as installing new fuses because all three look like they are tied to the same fuse, but the fuse box is a bear to reach being under the dash, behind the accelerator pedal. Starter will need replacing at some point. Doors could use a realignment. Vinyl roof will need to be replaced (bubbling underneath and tears around the back window).
Cosmetically in great condition. Looks like it had been repainted at some point before I took ownership. There are some scratches on the hood, fender and trunk. Interior is in great shape except for one split in center of the dash. Undercarriage has some surface rust, but not bad for a 50 year old everyday vehicle.
Vehicle is being sold as is/no warranty. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping
I accept cashier's check\money order
Feel free to message me with any questions.
You don’t see many second generation Mustangs like this out there anymore, and with just a little bit of TLC, this one is ready to be shown off to a new crowd.
