1946 BUICK SUPER CONVERTIBLE- LOW RESERVE This wonderful car is a true California,USA survivor of a mild custom. As the third caretaker of this car, I have owned it for 25 years. It has been garage kept, coveted and has only been driven about 1000 miles.
It was purchased new in the San Francisco Bay area by a body shop owner that started customizing it. It was alleged (not proven) to have won the 1955 Oakland Car Show for Best Mild Custom.
It has a 1950 Pontiac grill, 1949 Cadillac quarters, Skylark wires, 1953 Merc headlight rings, 1950 Olds side trim, chrome plated dash moldings. 1953 Buick Nailhead V/8 converted to 3 speed on the floor, Ansen block off column plate, nosed & decked, 1953 Chevrolet truck hydraulic clutch cylinder, hydraulic top and windows. 1/2 ” Black rolled and pleated seats done in early 1950’s that are just as soft & supple as if just done.
Since I have owned this car, other than coveting it, I have completed mechanical maintenance and stored it in a heated indoor garage. I have replaced the convertible top and tires.
It has a lot to be said about and I talk better than I write, so contact me with questions. The car is ready to be used or coveted, your call ! Car is located near Milwaukee WI, USA. So, I don’t think you will ever, ever find a nicer original example of an early custom. The pictures tell the story.
