This killer, comment-getting 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser is a Collector’s Edition example with a 4.5-liter inline-six that is linked with a four-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a locking center differential. Finished in white over two-tone brown and tan leather upholstery, the truck is equipped with 16? alloy wheels, a sunroof, a front brush guard, a roof rack, folding third-row seats, air conditioning, and a touchscreen Pioneer stereo with Apple CarPlay and an integrated backup camera. I've also just installed upgraded carpeting (with additional backing which makes it more plush, quieter, and better insulated) and seat belts, and replaced the front brakes, power steering gear, speakers, rear window motors, oil pump assembly, oil pan gasket, battery, thermostat, radiator, and drive belts. I've finally gotten her into the shape I envisioned when I bought this vehicle 5 years ago and am now proud to pass it along to someone who wants a rare-as-diamond example of a classic Cruiser in pristine condition. She looks and drives great!
This FZJ80 shows 187k chassis miles and includes manufacturer’s literature and a clean Ohio title. It received most of its miles in California, so has rarely been exposed to road salt, and I've coated the undercarriage with a protective layer since it's been here. ZERO rust on the frame! It's exceptional.
The truck is finished in white and features Collector’s Edition fender decals, a sunroof, sliding rear windows, power-adjustable side mirrors, a front brush guard, running boards, mud flaps, a receiver hitch, a roof rack, a rear wind deflector, and a rear window wiper. The rear window and windshield were recently replaced, and there are paint blemishes around the wheel wells, and close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery.
The 16? alloy wheels are mounted with 265/75 Kenda Radial Klever H/P tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with ABS. The front brake components and power steering gear were replaced recently. You will have zero mechanical problems with this vehicle. I recently drove it to Texas and back. It's very strong and totally reliable.
The comfortable cabin features front bucket seats, a folding second-row bench, and third-row folding seats upholstered in two-tone brown and tan leather. A touchscreen Pioneer head unit with Apple CarPlay and an integrated backup camera has been added as well as LED cabin lights, and additional interior amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, and a digital clock. As stated above, upgraded carpeting was installed and the speakers, rear window motors, and front seat belt retractors were recently replaced.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel wears a cover and frames a 130-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The 4.5L 1FZ-FE inline-six was factory-rated at 212 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque, and was replaced in 2023 with a 75k-mile unit!
Power is routed to all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck is equipped with a locking center differential, and undercarriage protection has been applied annually.
In in the interest of transparency! Known issues are: the front/back motor of the passenger seat is jammed at the moment, and the right rear window is stuck in place. You'll notice in the photos there are scratches on the left front wheel well flare. There is also an occasional tiny leak over the rear passenger area, coming from the sunroof. I have hesitated sealing that leak in case the new owner wants full use of the sunroof (i.e., to have the ability to fully open it). Happy to sell as is; I'm also happy to seal in the sunroof permanently to solve the occasional leak.
Thanks for looking and early congrats to whoever wins this auction! It's a once in a lifetimer as far as I'm concerned!
