Pontiac Historical Society (PHS) certified REAL 1965 Tri-Power, 4 spd, 3:55 Posi GTO with P/S and PDB. The engine is a 455. I bought this car in July 2020 from Volocars.com. Search YouTube for Volocars GTO Videos. Look for film number V18962 to see the original advertising. It's mentioned in the video that the car has undergone a frame off restoration and pictures of the underside of the car are shown. I also have a folder full of receipts provided by the prior owner regarding the restoration.
In 2022, the engine was sent to Huntsville Engines and was rebuilt. The rebuild included a Comp Cam roller cam, roller lifters, and roller tip rockers. It also got a new clutch and pressure plate. The transmission was leaking and was sent to American Powertrain in TN for inspection and resealing. Other small items that were replaced were the distributor and coil, two lower control arms, shock absorbers, and the gas tank. The car was completed and returned to me on July 13, 2022.
The Tri-Power carburetors were sent to Wright's Tri-Power in FL for restoration and rebuilding. An electric choke was also added. New mufflers were put on the car in Aug. 2023. I had the rear tailpiece panel chromed by Advanced Plating in Portland, TN. Both chrome taillight grilles are new and I was just waiting for this last piece to complete the rear end. Thousands of dollars of receipts will be included with the sale of the car to indicate the work done.
The car looks and drives like a muscle car of the mid 60's should.
