I am offering this rare CANADIAN Land Rover Discovery 1 here with 5 speed manual transmission. If you have any questions or want to make an offer please call me at 912.4148993. Messages here will likely be ignored. Runs/ drives/ stops/ starts / looks very nice, and has desirable appointments like manual seats, only one front sunroof, CDL center diff clock, working/ plumbed snorkel for engine , and more. On the downside, there is some rust in the body of the Rover. Please read entire ad for details.
I bought this as I was told it had no rust. I think for a Canadian , this would be considered 'no rust' , but for an Oregonian or a Californian, this truck has rust. If you live in Massachusetts, this would not be VERY RUSTY , but any rust at all is a rusty truck to me. So , I wanted to harvest the engine and 5 speed manual transmission for my 1994 Range Rover Classic... but I may not have time this summer to do this, and I keep having people ask me to sell this Discovery , so this is your chance. I will list it one time, now.
If this does not sell, then reach out to me with your parts requests. I love this Rover! But I just hate rust. I have 6 Discoverys here right now, and I am running out of room, so need to sell some things
I bought this truck, and had to buy a new fuel pump, and ignition distributor to get it to run. It has x 2 batteries installed, with an isolator. Tires are excellent. NO rear jump seats, NO rear AC, NO rear sunroof . This would be considered a stripped down economy model, which is now the most coveted series to purchase with the least amount of potential problems in the future.
It starts easily, runs and drives as it should. IT DOES HAVE AN ANNOYING EXHAUST LEAK. Looks like from passenger side exhaust manifold to cylinder head gasket. I do not not V8 gas engines, I remove them and make diesel conversions with the Rover 300tdi 3.8 engine. Check my other listings for engine conversion packages and kits, and converted Discos.
Could you drive this truck anywhere, right now? PROBABLY. IT is noisy though. The exhaust leak. There is creaking from the rear suspension. The air conditioning / A/C does not blow cold. STEREO powers up , but amplifier was removed, so no radio.
Body is rust free, as it is aluminum, but there is some rust on the floor under drivers seat , and assorted rust here and there underneath, but nothing I would call serious, or bad, but there is no doubt; there is rust here and there.
I have a lot more photos, and videos, and I am happy to share with anyone who calls me. My number is in the ad three times. I will likely not respond to messages here, however.
I can help have this transported anywhere in the USA at buyers expense, and if you bid, you are bidding to purchase, you are not bidding to come and inspect. If you want to inspect the truck, you have to do so before placing a bid.
I have clear title in hand.
Odometer shows 255000 KM, or about 158000 miles.
Transmission shifts great, clutch is strong. Brakes feel great. Truck starts easily , but has an exhaust leak.
If it does not sell here , now, I will keep it and/ or part it out.
What else can I tell you?
Thank you for reading all of this.
