Classic Survivor (with Original Rebuilt 272 Y-Block): This beauty is the reason Ford Motor Company sold more full-size cars than did Chevrolet for the 1957 model year!
This well-cared-for 1957 Custom 300 four-door sedan is a fantastic driver that always receives compliments. It's the same model and body style made famous by the 1960 film "Psycho" (driven by Janet Leigh) and the first two seasons of the "Leave It to Beaver" TV show (Ward's car).
If you're seeking an original 1950s Ford that you can reliably drive and be proud of, this is the one.
This California car came to Nebraska in 2015. Current owner has had it since 2017. This fine Ford was manufactured in Long Beach, Calif. June 14, 1957. No rust issues. Body is in great condition. Paint is colonial white. Blue interior.
The 272 c.i., 190 h.p. Y-block V-8 (original) was rebuilt in 2018 by a very well-respected Nebraska shop -- equipped with a new six-blade fan. Runs perfectly. New gas tank, new gas line, and new starter. New whitewall tires in 2018. Automatic (Ford-O-Matic) transmission. Fewer than 900 miles have been put on since the owner moved out of state and only drove it a few times a year.
This is classic Ford is a survivor and driver, not a restored "trailer queen." Some things worth noting:
- The headliner and weather stripping was installed by someone who did it themselves. It works fine but the next owner may want to invest in a new headliner to make the interior snap!
- On the interior of the driver's side door, there is a little rust where the driver's arm rested near the window (see photo) and the interior door handle is worn with age.
- The front seat covering has been replaced and is not the same pattern as the original (see photos).
- Radio and clock are not working; they were installed in 2018 to replace the blanking plate.
