Up for auction is a fantastic and rare opportunity. A restorable C1 Corvette from 1961. This was a project that never got around to by it's most recent owner. Purchased around 2001 and stored in a dry garage since. Not a bad start if you are looking to restore a C1 to your own taste.
According to the VIN, this car was born with a 'high performance' 283 V8. This car also was born with a manual transmission. Still a manual with a Hurst shifter but the engine now appears to be a 327 from 1968. This is a non running engine with some components missing. I would consider this a rebuildable core or one to be removed entirely and replaced with something of your choice. We tried to spin the motor manually but were unsuccessful. Rear suspension appears to have been replaced and hardly used. Undercarriage cleaned and painted from the front wheels back. Looks like the front was to be next but that never happened. We have a box of new front suspension bits that will go with the car. Also, the drive shaft for this vehicle is MIA.
The Fisher body tag is not attached to the car so we cannot verify the original trim combination. Looks like this car may have been born Honduras Maroon as I can see signs of it around the car.
Overall a very clean and honest base for a C1 restoration. What you see is what you get. I have a walk around video I can share to your email as well as about 30-40 more additional pics I can send any serious buyers. I also encourage in person inspections.
PLEASE only bid if you can follow through with the purchase! Our reserve is super reasonable. We want this to go to someone that will appreciate it. I can easily arrange transport too. Just send me your ZIP code and I'll get you a fast quote. A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end with the remaining due within 7 days of that. Someone will be VERY happy with this car......
