PATINA, seems to be the word of the day. Patina, Come look. Look at a real kind of unmolested unrestored survivor type old car. Very solid. The white on the roof was gone so the top has been repainted back to the original 57 color of imperial ivory. Most of the car still wears its original factory matador red paint. The hood shows signs of repaint along with one front fender. It also has patina and looks to have been painted way back in the day. Matador red was factory color of car. No sign of any repairs or body work shows in trunk area. There has been paint shot around in trunk but no repairs show. Try and come and inspect bottom of this car. It has been many many years since I have had to inspect the bottom of any 57 that showed no sign of needing welding or repair on bottom. Come check it out. Trunk area good floor plans good. Inner rocker panels good, outer panels good. The rocker panel molding on one side is gone so we will picture original rust free rocker panel. This is a rare and very good old survivor car.
All four jams are still the original matador red. Not repainted! Could stand a day of scrubbing and polishing. It still has the original 14 inch wheels. Still matador with coker classic W.W. tires, nice condition. This car could stand a paint job but that would be the furthest thing from my mind. To me its a true survivor somewhat a piece of history. Not many left like this. Original radio is in dash, It of course, makes no noise. This car can be and is enjoyed just like you see it sitting. It is cool and at the local cruise ins. it draws a crowd more so than some of my over restored cars. They are new only once. All the original glass is present and very usable. All the original chrome parts are present, and very usable as-is. Some could stand to be replated but that would destroy what this car represents. Original head liner is still nice, its red. Hubcaps and all other stainless parts are here and very good condition. Body is still very straight down the sides.
The interior is the factory original interior, very usable. Just like it is. No rips or tears but some panels are separated due to the thread being old and no doubt just rotten. It of course is a factory Belair hard top.
The last long time owner used it as a cruiser. A good driver car. He added a very strong 350 motor runs awesome. Sounds great, and run strong. Since we have owned it we put on a new Edelbrock carburetor and starts great now. To make it look alive we added new coil springs to front. It is now ready to drive and enjoy.
It shifts out neat, car is upgraded to a 700R four speed automatic transmission. It makes it good on gas milage, neat stuff.
