VIN: WGC34-071104
Engine: This Stagea has an RB25DET Neo which I stripped down to the short block to refresh so it would be reliable. Replaced every gasket I could, even dropped the oil pan to clean it and installed a new oil pick-up tube gasket. Has ARP head studs and a new OEM head gasket. Did not originally plan on pulling the head but I figured doing all the gaskets but not pulling the head and replacing the valve stem seals would be a waste of effort. While the head was off and disassembled I also lapped all the valves. The water jacket on the back intake side of the engine block and the lower half of the intake manifold were rusted out and leaking and both were replaced. Has a brand new OEM timing belt installed, as well as new cam seals and front and rear main seals. All the silicone couplers on the intake system were replaced since they were all hard and cracking along with all vacuum hoses.
Transmission: When I picked up the car from port it was in limp mode where the transmission will only run in 3rd gear and reverse. After some research I found that the tiptronic transmissions have a common failure where the shift solenoids go out. I ordered a new OEM set and opened up the transmission to replace them, the trans was very clean on the inside which gave me confidence in the condition of the trans and the solenoid replacement fixed the issue right up, it shifts beautifully now.
Car is sitting on a
set of 18” G35 wheels, the wheels are in okay condition but have
a decent amount of curb rash on them, I think they used to be on
someones drift car, I spent a whole day getting black and purple
plasti-dip off of them. They are wrapped in brand new Laxani Luxhp
UHP tires with less than 1,000 Km’s on them.Would make a good set of wheels and tires to daily drive on while you wait for your new wheels, you and I both know you're already imagining what wheels you want to put on this.
Has an issue with
the HVAC I haven’t figured out yet, the AC does work and blows cold
but I can’t change the temperature or which vent the air comes
from, but you can turn it on and adjust the fan speed, have not yet
looked into that very much. Also has developed a brake pulse which
feels like it is coming from the rear rotors.
Does have a small amount of rust starting on the doors under the mirrors since Nissan puts foam under them from the factory which holds water, but the underside of the car is very clean. This does not cause water to leak into the car and is only cosmetic.
Still has a fully factory exhaust with two mufflers and a catalytic converter.
