WALKAROUND VIDEO:
Beautiful custom Karmann Ghia. Lifelong Tucson car. Patina’d desert survivor. Owned by one family for decades, father then son. Son sold it to a young doctor whose daughter was on his swim team. She drove her kids in it on weekends, then sold it to me two years ago. I have driven it under 1000 miles and serviced it regularly at Chirco Performance here in Tucson, who are nationally known and have serviced it for many years. Extensive records including full engine rebuild ($3500).
Mods in CA surf style. Original paint. Distressed metal metal dash. Craig 8-track player mounted under the dash, speakers mounted in a briefcase behind the rear seats, two cases of 8-track tapes. Custom upholstery. Custom headliner. Skateboard wheel gas pedal. Custom hubcaps (on stock wheels), window winders, etc.
Mechanical mods include dropped front spindles, EMPI shifter, electric fuel pump, LED headlights. Fully rebuilt stock spec engine at Chirco less than 1000 miles ago. Mileage shows about 47K - could be correct, or could have rolled over, or could be something else -TMU. All systems, controls work flawlessly, as intended, including peripherals like the windshield wipers, rear windows, horn, etc. Rear deck lid comes with mount spacers to raise; I dropped it down to stock position.
Many cosmetic imperfections. Paint chips, minor scrapes, etc. No dents, no evidence of any significant damage or body work. Extensive sticker collection on engine compartment lid. Solid, virtually rust-free - floor pan photos show desert dust, not corrosion - there is minor floor pan and battery box perforation, driver’s floor has been reinforced from above with a screwed-in sheet metal overlay and feels rock solid. .
A great car for cars and coffee - and, as a daily driver (the long term prior owner drove it every day, and it is widely recognized around Tucson). It gets many comments on the road. It is an authentic, solid, original - rarer than a restoration - people love it. Would like to re-home it with someone who will keep it that way and enjoy it.
