He has just suffered from his second stroke, and he does not want the Thunderbird to stay parked in his garage! This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is equipped with its 312 cubic inch V8 w/ automatic transmission. Mr. Avery has owned, restored, and maintained this car for nearly 28 years! (1996) This thunderbird started its frame on restoration at that time of purchase and over the years has been completely repainted back to factory “Raven Black” and “Colonial White” and interior reupholstered back to the original “flame Red!” The car will come with painted fender skirts as well, they just are not pictured or shown. What’s also not pictured or shown is the original soft convertible top. It’s complete and installed, but could use new material if you plan on taking off the hard top and using the soft top! The 312 was pulled out and completely rebuilt here in Wilmington NC at his mechanic shop called “Avery’s Automotive.” Mr Avery has also added vintage AC, aluminum radiator, large cooling fan and just recently installed electric power steering. This car runs and drives like a dream and effortlessly steers with the electric power steering. The original Radio (Town and Country) was converted to am/fm sterio and works great. The transmission has been resealed recently and shifts smoothly without any hesitations or hick ups. brand new gas tank, new fuel pump, new fuel filters and rebuilt carburetor have also been completed recently along with a full tune up, pertronix electric ignition, and oil change. This car is literally ready to be driven to its next owners House whether that will be in South Carolina or across the United States to California, this Thunderbird is ready to make the trip! Yes!
