Chevrolet was continuing a very successful model in 1959 with only a few changes to the car which included new one-piece door panels with the armrest and door handle relocated for extra elbow space for passengers, the elimination of the chrome trunk spears and hood ridges, concave gauge lenses for easier reading, and the introduction of the "T-bar" shift handle reverse lockout feature protecting the driver from a shift to reverse by mistake.

This 1959 Corvette is finished in Frost Blue accented by Snowcrest White coves and Turquoise Vinyl interior. Optioned include date-code correct 283ci V8-245hp engine with 2x4 carburetion, 4-speed manual transmission, upgraded 3.73 Posi-traction rear end, dash tachometer, heater/defrost, courtesy light, Firestone Deluxe Champion white wall tires measuring 6.70-15, Wonderbar signal seek radio, black carpeted floor mats, along with both auxiliary hardtop and white convertible soft top.

Only 9,670 Corvettes were produced in 1959 making them highly prized collectibles! This vehicle showcases a total restoration completed by the former owner of 21 years between 2003-2006. He found this Corvette in Kentucky and had it delivered to his home state of Texas. It was disassembled down to the chassis in body-off fashion. The body was refinished professionally by Joey Montelongo of Franklin, TX. The 283ci engine was balanced and blueprinted by Maris of Montgomery, TX with spec sheet included. It utilized a CompCams Magnum 30-30 solid lifter camshaft, Diamond aluminum pistons & rings, billet flywheel, Edelbrock aluminum intake with dual AVS 2 500cfm carburetors, Pertronix electronic ignition, and more. The original, factory-issued Borg Warner T10 transmission was swapped for a later model Muncie M20 4-speed unit with a Hurst shifter. The original transmission is included in the sale.

It retains an overall stock presentation under the hood with exception to individual open element air cleaners with reusable filters. With this Corvette being built for use as a confident south Texas driver, a 6-blade Flexlite fan and an auxiliary electric cooling fan are fitted for hot summertime cruising and parade use. Additionally, the front brakes have been converted to disc brakes for optimum stopping performance. This included stainless steel brake lines and braided hoses. The original drum brake components are also included in the sale. Underneath, a FlowMaster dual exhaust system provides a perfect tone for everyday use, and optional for electronic exhaust cutouts for some added fun when you want to wake up the neighbors!

Inside, everything from the dash, center console, storage bin, padded grab bar, carpet, seat upholstery & padding, seat belts, floor pedals, shift knob, turn signal lever, door panels, and misc trim pieces were all newly installed during the restoration. The carpet does now show some mild staining in the foot well areas. The convertible top was newly installed in July 2024 upon arrival to the St. Louis Car Museum. We also rebalanced these older bias ply tires with a 4-wheel alignment, installed new drive belts, changed the engine oil & filter, and properly adjusted the transmission speedometer gear for more accurate readout on the factory gauge.

It drives with terrific ease! The engine response is smooth and powerful as it travels effortlessly down the road. It keeps pace with everyday traffic making this a perfect summertime cruiser and wonderful Corvette investment! And it's a great color combination to have in our opinion! Truly gorgeous! The 1959 Corvettes celebrated their milestone 65th birthday this year which is quite an honor. It will come with the original owner's manual, clear Missouri title, and two sets of keys. Please call with any questions or to schedule a chance to review it in person.
