Although 35 years old, this truck is a very useable example. This Land Rover has been owned by one family since new and has covered 145000 miles. The truck will be available for pick up in Clearwater Florida at the end of July.

The truck is in good condition for the age and runs well. The truck has been serviced and had several recent inspections, once by my local mechanic who serviced it and again by a trusted body shop & welder who completed some  work on the passenger footwell area. I bought the truck earlier this year for a family trip and no longer need it.  Here is a list of just some of the past work/upgrades by the previous owner:

1. New alternator belt and new power steering belts.
2. Head Gasket replaced

3. Turbo replaced

4. Chassis pressure washed and treated with Lano guard.
5. New footwells professionally welded in place.
6. 33 inch off-road tires.
7. Brand-new, full size spare.
8. Heavy duty swing away spare wheel carrier in the rear.
9. Brand-new grill and light surrounds.

Pros of the truck in general  are...

1.  Mechanically well maintained; running well and as it should

2.  Chassis is in outstanding condition with no rot

3.  Body panels are straight with no accidents. 

Areas to improve in general are...

1.  Paint work - The original owner had the truck hand painted.  It definitely   

     has the rugged "rough & ready" look if that's what you're looking for... 

     Otherwise the new owner may want to get it repainted.

2.  The tires could do with being replaced soon.  Although the full size rear 

      mounted spare is brand new.

If you're after a true, rugged looking defender this is a great driveable example that does not require any repair work to use.  The only potential work is strictly cosmetic.  One thing's for sure, I had a lot of fun with it during my short ownership, I was able to fit my wife, my two kids, my sister and brother in law and their two kids!  They had a blast.
