Meet “Bessie.” She’s an all American classic 1984 Cadillac Eldorado with a sleek white exterior, a tramp stamp
on her continental and faded tatting along the side. She is quite the looker, especially from 10 ft out! Bessie’s
been city driven daily for more than a decade with the occasional road trip to the backcountry of Wisconsin’s
cheese land. She was brought into our little family as a convenient grocery getter, easy city parker and
suitability for cheap transportation, but we kept her anyway!
With about 5,000 miles on her current tires, there’ll be no need to replace those anytime soon. She’s an
automatic too, so even young Georgie will be able to drive her. We’ve replaced the coolant system, alternator,
emissions pump, and the transmission was rebuilt. We installed Monroe air shocks on Bessie’s rear and put in a
new water pump. Also, we put in a new trunk lock and upgraded her to a satellite radio, but you got to get your
own satellite subscription.
Bessie’s a FWD and not built for today’s speeds. Although she does a solid (insert speed limit here) on the
highways, she’s made for low and slow city driving and she will make you look good while in her driver’s seat.
If you’re an 8 while driving Bessie you are now a 10! A 6? Well then, you are now an 8! If you’re a 4, Bessie
will bring you over the threshold and make you a 6! If you are less than a 4, even she can’t help you.
And for all you parents out there that are thinking you’re the cool Mom or Dad still driving the kids around in a
minivan or an SUV, upgrade! Bessie seats 6 and makes an awesome prom car!
We had our Bessie up for auction earlier this month but the buyer who met the reserve cancelled a few minutes
later. Any of you who were bidding before are clearly interested and now have another chance to be part of
Bessie’s life. She wants you, show her that you want her!
We’ll even throw in a high-quality car cover, replacement sideview mirrors, extra working alternator, manual
and a box of other random parts that may or may not belong to her or may or may not be car parts! Thanks to all
of you for your interest.
