Up for sale is a 1991 Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX. First US owner purchased from an importer. Car is 33 years old and in great shape for its age, but it does need some work in order to be perfect. Will come with a lot of new parts to install.
Pros - 99 spec front bumper. Low mileage example. Currently shows 145,478 KM (90,395 MI). Timing belt service was completed in Japan at 101,631 KM, so there is still another 55,000 KM until the belt service needs to be done again. Comes with the super rare to find t-top bags. Recently installed parts are as follows: Z1 300ZX (Z32) high flow intake, Nissan OEM steering joint coupler (there was some play in the steering at purchase - this fixed that and tightened up the steering to the way it should feel), Nissan OEM radiator upper mounts, Nissan OEM power transistor unit, Nissan OEM PTU bracket, Nissan OEM PTU sub harness, Concept Z Performance OEM replacement weatherstrip rubber seal for the RH t-top, Z1 NA intake hard pipe kit. Car will come with the following upgrades as well that are NIB: CZP Z32 to Z33 12.75" brake upgrade adapter bracket kit (to upgrade to the newer Z33 upgraded brake rotors), GKTech eccentric lockout kit for non HICAS equipped cars, CZP early to late style fuel injector adapter kit, Z1 silicone idle air hose set (this may fix the idle as most of the hoses are pretty brittle), Z1 silicone PCV hose kit, and finally a brand new Wiring Specialties harness with the following options - VG30 late style injectors, VG30 new style CAS with snap in connector, naturally aspirated VG30DE, RHD factory automatic, Pro series knock sensor sub harness.
Cons - Car lot drives fine, but there is a major vacuum leak somewhere I haven't been able to identify most likely under the intake manifold. No check engine light - just not idling smoothly. The parts described above, mainly the harness and silicone hoses, will fix all of this. There's a small dent in the lower LH rocker that was there when the car was brought over from Japan -- looks like either previous owner either ran over something or more likely the car was incorrectly racked up in a shop. There is a small amount of rust on the trunk lid and by the LH door, as pictured. The spoiler, as is normally the case for these Zs is swelling (pictured), and will need to be replaced as well. AC is fine, but the compressor clutch is locked up and will need to be replaced. Small burn in rear seat (previous owner in Japan was a smoker, car doesn't smell like smoke though at all). There is no radio included as pictured. There is minor fade throughout the vehicle, most of which looks like it would be fixed with a good buff. Steering wheel has moderate wear on it.
The Z does need some love, but I am providing a huge head start on getting this car running back to its old glory.
