For consignment a 36,229 low original title verified mile example of the 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 convertible. This example has a potent 392 Hemi V8 that balances brawn with brains, features an active intake manifold, variable cam timing and a Procharger P1SC1 supercharger. This example is in excellent condition and sports plenty of options and power making it a high performer producing more horses than the 1966 street Hemi. Oh, and did I mention it's a menacing looker as well, with plenty of interior creature comforts.
Exterior
In our midst a Billet Silver Metallic streak throwback. This silver color bathes the body and shows as new with a few very minor areas of concern that should easily buff out, or a light spray will cover them. Looking much like the throwback to the 70's version we see dual HID headlights, the inboards being marker lights, within an elongated oval grille all in menacing black surrounds, neoprene bumper and chin spoiler hovering just above the tarmac. This giant lower air dam increases downforce and helps cool the brakes. As we move our eyes to the passenger compartment we glide over the raised center hood, complete with black stripes and functional scoops. The roofline is rakish and looks like it's moving forward as the car just sits there. Black frameless glass with drip shields and tinted windows along with sporty body matching side view mirrors allow you to see where your competition is and most likely will stay! On top is now a black canvas convertible put on in California by American Coach Customs. It is power actuated and has a glass rear window. Moving along a chromed racing style gas cap and a small lip spoiler is on top of the flat rear deck. More crash test dummy neoprene makes up the aero bumper and rear roll pan that shows dual chromed rectangular exhaust tips peeking out from the bottom. Large 20-inch polished wheels are wrapped by black wall radials and shine nicely on all 4 corners.
Interior
Race inspired leather covered high back buckets have charcoal black suede inserts and smooth charcoal black shiny exaggerated leather bolsters. A sporty red highlight strip runs through the back along with white SRT embroidery below the headrests. Nice white stitching also highlights these seats, with the driver's being power actuated. In back a 2 plus 2 bench in the same motif and in excellent condition is seen. A center console races forward between the buckets and has a glovebox, LED lit cup holders and the factory shift lever housing. Rising from this center is a mid-dash which has climate control knobs and an interactive U-Connect screen for the Bluetooth, radio, navigation, and voice activation as well as a backup cam. In front of the driver is a cascade of white-faced analog gauges under a squared off design eyebrow visor. To the driver's left on the A pillar we see some gauges mounted in for easy monitoring. A charcoal black tonneau covers the top when in the down position.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a 6.4 liter V8 Hemi which in stock trim puts out an amazing 425hp. It has a Procharger supercharger, new catch can, and proper tuning so the pony count has definitely went upward. It is fed by EFI and bolted to the back is a Daimler Benz W5A580 5-speed automatic A 3.06 limited slip rear axle is on back.
Undercarriage
Appearing as like new with rust free gray steel making up the unibody and flooring, there is no rust and little road dirt on this underbelly. No rust, no drips, no errors for the bottom end of the engine or transmission. Power Brembo disc brakes on slotted rotors are all around, and independent suspension with Bilstein shocks and struts which is SRT tuned keep you hugging the corners nicely. A like new exhaust with glass pack style mufflers is seen in dual form.
Drive-Ability
As expected it fired right up and ran like a champ with worry free power, shifting and great handling, something the muscle of the 70's did not have. A nice overall example that will throw you back in the seat with anything more than a tickle of the go pedal.
Retro styling, creature comforts, and plenty of muscle from the 6.4 liter mill takes us back in looks but forward in performance and reliability. Throw in some HID lighting, several convenience options and a convertible we have a real find. Come and get it!
