Vehicle Details

This RAV4 was purchased by us in August 2010 from a Florida dealership off of eBay with 36737 miles on the odometer. Back then it was a creampuff and whoever had it first really took care of it. It has been used as a family car and a commuter by my wife. We put it up for sale now because we have two other vehicles and don't use this one very much with the wife now being retired. A North Carolina Safety and Emissions Inspection was just completed on July 5th, and if you look at the mileages listed it indicates that the RAV has been driven a mere 799 miles this past year. It has been faithfully maintained with the oil last changed by me in June with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum synthetic 5W-30 oil. Always gently driven, the engine has never been pushed, abused or "redlined" while owned by us. The body is virtually rust free with a very clean non-smoker interior. There are a few paint chip dings here and there which the photos reveal, but overall the paint finish is still very nice. The A/C works great. Only two items do not work now, the passenger front door power lock and the TPMS sensors for the tires. The interior of the RAV being small, I just lean across and flip the lock switch by hand. The TPMS sensors were not mandated in 2005, so don't affect inspections. There is a new Walmart Evermaxx battery I recently installed (Apr 2024) and also included with the RAV is an iCarCover (May 2024), and a set of Cooper Evolution snow tires mounted on an extra set of wheels, including the hub covers. The snow tires have less than 1000 miles on them and the Cooper Evolution tires on the RAV have about 12000 miles on them. The infamous airbag recall replacement was completed (Feb 2016). I have done almost all maintenance on this vehicle myself over the years. For example, at 74000 miles the alternator was replaced, at 122000 miles (Aug 2019) the spark plugs with coils were replaced, and at 137000 miles the front struts with sway bar links, the rear shocks and the rear brakes pads with rotors were replaced. At 147000 miles the serpentine belt and tensioner were replaced (Apr 2023). I replaced the fuel pump at 148000 miles just to be proactive. There is absolutely no reason why this vehicle can't make it for another 100,000 to 150,000 miles. The engine has never used oil between oil and filter changes that have always been performed at 6 month intervals. It is being sold as-is with no warranty, but as far as I know there are no impending problems lurking under the surface. That's why I did the inspection to make sure the basic systems meet North Carolina state requirements. A 19-year old car will need attention occasionally, but we've lived with it for almost 14 of those years and it has been very reliable. If we had a real need for it we wouldn't be parting with it. Mileage at time of sale will be slightly higher as I run the RAV down the road at least once a week to keep her limbered up. (Payment methods are cash, money order or PayPal if you don't use the Escrow.com service. Our listing price should give you the confidence that we're not out to profiteer off the general populace.)
