68,000 original miles.
Currently registered and insured.
West Virgina Title and tagged in my name...(I do have a small balance remaing on my purchasing loan so there is a lien...purchaser will submit their funds to my lender who will release title with associated lien release upon completion of payment.)
1 Family (Husband original owner, now deceased, and his widow afterwards who I bought from...I am first owner outside the original owning family.)
What is not original to car:
1 Re-paint in original Polar White
2.Replacement carb (Number on current carb decodes as replacement number...it is new and less than two years old.) I have a non-original but correct year and number carb for this engine…if you have to have it, I will remove it from my ’68 400 and include.
3. Original crossflow muffler was replaced with dual flowmaster types sometime in 80s or 90s...looks like most of the original pipes are in place with replacement mufflers grafted in.
4. Has replacement trunk pan that original owner did not weld in...it is only installed with a sloppy bead of RTV...it is how I bought it.
What is original: EVERYTHING ELSE.
Original WT code 400 engine and #12 heads.
Original M-13 Heavy Duty 3-speed Toploader transmission with factory Hurst shifter...(Yes, Pontiac sourced Ford HD 3-speeds for GTOs and FIREBIRDS with 400 engines...please confirm with diligent research on your part before objecting...I did myself. You will notice in highlighted PHS docs that my car is 1 of 286 built with this transmission in 1970...rare, maybe-kinda...big deal...not really, but there it is.
Original 12 Bolt rear axle...(I know nothing about gearing but i assume whatever was standard from new is still in it...Not a SafeT-track, but does burn rubber with both tires.
*REVISED 7 JULY: All original undamaged interior...(except for deterioated center console which i removed but still retain)...Original exterior sheet metal, and original fiberglass hood. There are a few bubbles about less than size of a dime on lower driver side quarter...bottom 3 inches behind rear wheel, very-very small...maybe 3 or 4 square inches in total, passenger side seems perfect..(picturee available.)
*REVISED 7 JULY: I pulled rear seats and did discover rot in lowest part of passenger side rear pan, driver side rear pan looks crusty with two tiny rot-thruogh spots...(pictures available of rear pans). I have not pulled carpets to look at floors from inside, but floors from underneath car are solid without any damage...(pictures available). All frame rails are excellent...(pictures available). NO rust any where else. Cowl, front and rear window channels, rockers, bottom of doors, roof and fenders are all nearly perfect with no rust...(pictures available.)
Car runs fine, drives fine...and by fine, I mean as you would expect a 1970 Firebird with POWER-NOTHING would drive... transmission, steering and brakes are all manual. Typical F-body rattles and squeaks as built in from new. Suspension is all original to my knowledge...and it feels like it.
I have original console but it is junk....plastic is warped, it has shrunk and nothing fit as it did when new...I also have a replacement 1980s steering wheel currently in th car...(I will keep this steering wheel, buyer will get original which is in trunk but is gross...the rubber has turned to some kind of sticky goo over the years, highlly reccomend a replacement.
Questions, feel free to message me...I am easy to get along with, very responsive and honest. I am only selling to thin out my collection and free up $ to dedicate elsewhere in my life.
Car will not be released until full payment received and funds have cleared my financial institution, form of payment is up to buyer as long as it conforms with the reuirements of my Credit Union.
