Continuing a slow progression of increased dependability, comfort, and capability, Land Rover updated the Series III in 1983 with the One-Ten. While the Series trucks were typically marketed as work vehicles or for military usage, the new model was also geared towards private recreational usage. Therefore, much as with many other manufacturers, Land Rover began introducing minor changes year-to-year to encourage new sales. As with the Series vehicles, the new One-Ten, later renamed the Defender and joined by other wheelbase lengths, was available in several body styles and with a variety of motor and transmission options. All came four wheel drive and most were produced with a two-speed transfer case with a locking center differential. All of these changes resulted in a resurgence in sales, helping the company update the Range Rover and introduce the Discovery by the end of the eighties.
Because of its distinctive styling and effortless capability, the Defender, much like with the competing G-Class, has become something of a legend amongst automotive enthusiasts. Naturally, numerous restorers and builders have focused their efforts on upgrading and maintaining these exceptional vehicles. Based in Amsterdam, The Landrovers are one such company. This incredible Land Rover received an extensive restoration by The Landrovers, who affectionally bestowed the name, "Bluemoon" on the car. The Amsterdam-based company fully refinished the from, rebuilt the original 3.5L V8, completed a bare-metal repaint, and refinished the interior over a period of approximately nine months. If it is not feasible for you to personally perform an inspection, we will gladly help facilitate an inspection by an independent service center of your choice and will make delivery arrangements of the vehicle for this purpose. All vehicles are sold in “AS IS” condition. Extended warranty options are available on most vehicles. Please be advised that no verbal statements concerning any vehicle constitutes a representation or warranty of said vehicle. Our goal is to provide you with the best service and buying experience as possible. All purchases include an additional $385 processing fee which covers the processing of paperwork, pre-vehicle delivery costs, FedEx shipping fees, and a 30-day temporary registration plate so that the vehicle can be driven prior to the title transfer. In regards to winning bidders and Buy It Now customers: All winning bidders and Buy It Now bidders are encouraged to fly out and personally inspect the vehicle. If you deem the vehicle is not as represented upon personal inspection, we will not only refund your deposit, but will also reimburse your airfare at the cost of a coach ticket. Feedback must be left at the time of delivery upon final inspection.
Pertaining to non-eBay winners: Anyone who has provided a deposit but whose purchase is still pending, please note that said vehicle will not be held and is subject to being sold at any time until all contingencies are removed and the purchase order is signed.
