Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this super-cool 1972 Dodge Charger! This rare beauty is outfitted with the Spring Green Topper X package which includes exclusive Bright Green Metallic paint with a green gator half vinyl top and special white/green plaid interior. The package also includes hideaway headlights, front and rear bumper guards, sill moldings, a rally instrument cluster, interior hood release, factory tinted glass, and front and rear body moldings. You don't see many of these green Topper X Chargers, and believe me, it's quite the head-turner! The bright green paint has been resprayed at some point in the cars life and is still in good driver condition. The whole chrome front grille/bumper gleams in the light and really gives the front end an intimidating look. Chrome accents continue around the car with wheel lip molding, window trim, drivers side mirror, rocker molding, and door edge guards all adding to the cool factor. The green gator top is in excellent condition and it immediately grabs everyone's attention. This Charger has an awesome stance as it sits atop classic 5-spoke Chrome Cragar SS wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A's.
A look under the hood reveals a blend of originality coupled with some performance and handling upgrades all presented in a neat and tidy engine bay. At it's heart is a 318ci V-8 with a COMP Cams 20-212-2 performance camshaft/lifter package and an Edelbrock 600 4-barrel carburetor. This strong running V-8 also sports a chrome air cleaner with 318 sticker, a chrome alternator, and chrome MOPAR valve covers. Exhaust runs through headers and Flowmaster mufflers before exiting the dual chrome exhaust tips with a rumble that is sure to put a smile on your face. This Charger is a factory A/C car that was retrofitted to 134A in 11/21 when a new compressor was added – and it still blows ice-cold today. The factory power steering also received an upgrade in 4/22 with the addition of a new "firm-feel" steering box that makes turning a breeze. Ride feel and handling was addressed in 10/21 with a front suspension rebuild and alignment. The V-8 is mated up to a numbers-matching Chrysler 904 3-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt in 10/21 – less than 1K miles ago! Power travels to the rear wheels via an 8.25 Chrysler rear axle with 2.76:1 open gears, making it an excellent freeway cruiser. Stopping power is provided by 4-wheel manual drum brakes with a dual reservoir.
When you open the drivers door of this Charger the courtesy light comes on to illuminate the incredibly cool white and green plaid cloth/vinyl bench seat interior (code S1FW) that's part of the Topper X package. The seats are still in very good condition with only light signs of wear (no rips, tears, or holes). Likewise, the OEM white door panels with woodgrain trim present very well. The woodgrain accent also appears on the dash as a backdrop to the gauge cluster and a strip of it runs across the passenger dash. The green vinyl dashpad looks great, but does have 2 small cracks acquired over the last 52 years. All of the gauges work as they should, including the 150mph speedometer. The odometer currently reads 67,777 miles and that is actual miles per the title! An aftermarket VDO tachometer has been mounted under the dash to the drivers left. Directly ahead of the driver is a 3-spoke green OEM steering wheel with a woodgrain center accent. A Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo has been added in the original radio slot and plays your favorite tunes through 2 JBL speakers mounted in the rear package tray. The in-dash climate controls work just as they should with hot heat, cold A/C, and a strong fan. Inside the glovebox you'll find an original owners manual – an unexpected extra. Underfoot is green hook & loop carpet that shows some light wear while overhead are a tight white vinyl headliner and shoulder safety restraints. The clean trunk is lined with a fitted vinyl mat and contains a full spare tire, a jack, and a car cover.
If you're a MOPAR fan or just someone who loves cool American muscle, you're going to want to take a look at this "green gator" Charger. If it didn't already have enough going for it, this Charger also comes with its original Broadcast Sheet! Stunning good looks, low actual miles, cold A/C, and plenty of fresh upgrades make this 72 Challenger one seriously good deal for the money – you'd certainly be hard-pressed to find another like it! Give our friendly staff a call tody and be the lucky one who gets to call it their own!
