1935 Rolls-Royce Phantom II
Woodall Nicholson Shooting Brake

On offer here is the only one, a unique Woodall Nicholson Shooting Brake fitted to a Phantom II Long Wheelbase chassis.
The original Thrupp and Maberly Sedanca body was upgraded to this bespoke design executed by noted coachbuilders  Woodall Nicholson prior to World War II.

180SK is the most majestic of the very few shooting brake examples constructed on any Roll-Royce chassis, most of which were fitted to the little sister smaller chassis 20HP, 20/25, and Wraith.

While this one will take some effort to restore to perfection, at the end of the day, it will compare favorably to a less exuberant example on a Phantom II chassis which realized $250,000 at auction in the not too distant past.

The body is sound-all wood has been addressed-nothing more than a few splines to tighten a few joints was needed. There roof has been recovered and some upholstery has been addressed. A new $7000 cylinder head was fitted some years ago when the operating systems were addressed-still has no mileage and the balance of the mechanicals were assessed and brought to good operating condition at last activity those years ago.

Virtually all of the fittings originally chrome plated have been replated to a high standard.

The wagon as acquired in 1984 was in the condition seen in the period photos here dating to the late1970's.

Over time, many postwar projects seemed to interfere with progress on this one, so it is offered here for the enthusiast who will make completion a priority.

There are some known items missing, but few and not of great moment.

Think double rifles secured to the interior paneled wood roof, a trailer towed behind with a trophy tiger strapped to the bed, a maharajah's hunting party celebrating within...or maybe envision that tall fellow in jodhpurs and riding boots loading cases of the vineyard's finest for delivery to some imagined fete, or, better yet, conjure your own dream and bring your own vision to this majestic wagon!
