The current owner of this great 57 Studebaker purchased it at auction in 2011. He is a big Studebaker fan and has owned several. He likes original cars and when he upgrades a new purchase, he always replaces parts with NOS factory originals when at all possible.
With this 57 Hawk, he wanted to do a few upgrades that a guy in the 60's would have done to make the car much cooler. He added the period correct Offenhauser finned valve covers but retained the originals. He also replaced the exhaust and mufflers in 2013 with Walker Continental glass packs, which give the car a great sound and were very popular in the 60s.

Since it's purchase in 2011, the owner has done the following:
1- The water pump was replaced within the past month.
2- The radiator was drained and flushed
3- The entire front end was redone in 2013. This included the steering linkage, the Pitman arms, bushings, etc.
4- The tach was upgraded to electronic
5- An inline fuel filter was added
6- The Walker Continental Glass Pack mufflers were installed along with new exhausts
7- Cats eye headlight covers
The previous owner restored the car cosmetically in the 90s. He had the interior completely redone and he had the car repainted. He was not a fan of the original color which was Coppertone Arctic, so he picked a yellow from 1956 and kept the original arctic white.
This is a fantastic classic to own. It runs and drives great, and is priced right for the first time classic buyer or someone just wanting to add it to their collection. Studebakers are really coming on strong in the collector world. They're value keeps going up depending on the model. The 57 Silver Hawk is one of 9607 President series coupes produced out of a total of 63,101.
Yes there are a few paint flaws in the over 20 year old paint job, but the car is still very presentable and looks great. We saw no rust anywhere on the car. We show some minor cracks in the paint in our photos. There is a small exhaust leak at the collector, but the seller has e brand new NOS replacement including the gaskets and new bolts.
This Silver Hawk needs to be seen in person. It's located in Lewisville, Texas north of Dallas. Please call Maris at 214-616-2317 with questions, and she can also help with financing and shipping. Also we have several more photos. We are limited to he number on this add, but will be happy to send you more.
