Up for sell is a 1985 Chevy Camaro Z28 with t-tops and an aftermarket hood. Please note, this car has been parked for coming up on 5 years. It is going to need plenty of TLC to bring it to life. Please keep this in mind when you are bidding and bid conservatively. I sincerely want this car to go to a good home that wants to bring her back to glory.

Details about the car and my time with it:
I bought this car 8 years ago when I lived in Iowa and brought it out to Colorado about six years ago. When I bought it, everything was stock, it ran well, and I had a great time driving it with a little 305 engine in it. In 2019, the car started throwing soot out of the exhaust. I decided to replace the engine and had a BluePrint 350 engine installed and new exhaust/mufflers. The folks that installed the engine pulled the air system in order to be able to install the engine. I was under the impression that the engine should have fit without pulling the air system (from the mechanics and the folks at BluePrint), but in the end, the air system was pulled. This is key information to be aware of because, the engine runs on premium/high octane gas. So, after the car has been running for 5-10 minutes or so, the gases put off by the car are significant. Like sting your eyes significant if you leave it running and approach the car. So, I drove the car about 100 miles with the new engine and couldn't stand the gases it put off, my wife hated it, and the gases set off the carbon monoxide detector in our house one day after I left for work (firetruck came to the house and everything). Fun day for my 1- and 3-year-old kids that day getting to see and climb on the firetruck with the firefighters, but not for my wife. My wife was pregnant with our 3rd kiddo at the time and so when I got home from work that day, I parked the car and haven't started it since. The bad experience with the mechanics getting the engine installed (they had the car for 7 months), not having exactly what I signed up for (and paid out the butt for!), and the gases being especially harmful to babies/newborns just kind of frustrated and ruined things for me and I parked it for good. Now it just sits there collecting dust in my garage and it needs to go to a home that will fix it, drive it, and love it! I'm not trying to get top dollar for this car, so bid conservatively knowing you are going to have work to do to make it drivable. I really want just the car to go to a good home and recoup a bit of my investment in the car over the years.

Things I think potential bidders might want to know:

The car has been garage-kept for the 8 years that I have owned it. I bought it off a gentleman from California who owned the car for, I think, 5+ years himself.

The car ran all the way up until the day that I parked it.

While I only drove the car about 10 times with the new engine, I recall it was still throwing soot out of the exhaust, even though the engine and exhaust/mufflers had been replaced.

The new engine never got broke in. Be mindful that I am no engine expert. The engine is a BluePrint 350c (part number (BP3503CT1). I only drove it with premium/high octane gas, but it needs special care and I have no idea what being parked for 4+ years after installing it could have done to it. I trust and hope someone can still maximize it but be mindful of this when you bid.

T-tops were in good shape and did not leak in my time driving the car. Once more, the last time they have been water/rain-tested was 5 years ago and it has been parked in the garage ever since.

Over the years being parked, there has been a fluid leak under the car.

To be clear: issues to be aware of when buying:
Car has been parked for almost 5 years. Buyer will need to get the car running again. Do not plan on driving it home.
New BluePrint 350 engine never got through break-in period before being parked.
Car likely still throwing soot out exhaust.
Air system was pulled to fit engine in the car. Car gave off a significant amount of gases when running/idling. This car will not pass any clean air requirements in its current form if/when it gets running.
Please see the photo for the deep paint chip by the driver side door handle.

In closing:
Again, please bid conservatively. My hope is that the buyer of this car is extremely optimistic, excited, feeling like they got a decent deal, and eager to get the car back to glory. Please reach out with any questions that I have not addressed in the listing. With that, all sales will be final. Please do not bid if you are not sincere about purchasing the vehicle.
