Vehicle Original VIN :877-399-5137
Quite arguably the most recognized car that has ever been produced in the history of the automobile...The Beetle or internally and aficionado known as the Type 1 was first introduced in 1938 and would be built on a one-design platform until 2003. Eventually it would be assembled on every continent and be distributed worldwide with production hitting over 1 Million units several years in a row with a final production of over 21 Million cars sold over its lifetime. This particular little red sweetheart comes out of long-term ownership and has had only two owners since it was purchased. First owner was professor from Michigan State University. The car was restored in the mid 1980's with paint and a mechanical refresh. This bug starts perfectly, idles almost immediately and goes down the road like a beetle should. It is fast enough for the open road but not fast enough to worry about! The top appears to be newer than original and is in very good shape. Everything operates as it should, there is no rust in the body and the underside shows some surface rust as one would expect from a 53 year old ride. These are such great cars and you cannot run in to a car guy no matter what his automotive preference is without a story about a Beetle. Furthermore, this is such a nice easy way to enter the collector car market as they are still relatively affordable and the VW community is huge and parts are available both from NOS to Junk yard finds. This is a super nice driver that you could show off in your towns car show gatherings.
