This truck was ordered and shipped to International Harvester CO. IHC TSPC in Fort Wane IND. This SSII was a special order that was used to promote an aftermarket top and door kit company out of Lake Zurich IL.  Which offered an opportunity to put a fiberglass hardtop and fiberglass doors on your SSII's. This truck was painted red from factory and received the full kit from T.J.'s company upon arrival. Originally built for display purposes for the dealership show room in Indiana. Purchased at the end of 1978, it was driven right off the floor and used as a summer toy. Built Sep 19th 1977 for the SSII 1978 year, the full Line Set Ticket is available, along with the rest of the history of where the truck has been sitting all this time. Many people have talked about and looked for this special truck. It was written about in a popular 1990's 4x4 magazine in story was written for their "where is it now" category. It named this very truck along with its history of why and how it was ordered. Months later there was a follow-up to this story wondering where the truck was, has it been crushed or even lost after all this time. Its original decals and red paint from factory can still be seen on the tailgate photo. Virtually untouched, except one repaint. Retaining all that it came with including the original rear seat that is here, this gem of a find is ready for restoration.
