·       Timbren Off Road Bump Stops on axle, to allow truck to carry over 2 tons in bed or hitch.

·       Ball Hitch, E-trailer adjustable with rubber cushion, rated for 15k lbs.

·       Balls: Select-a-size removable balls in three sizes: 1-7/8”, 2”, 2-5/16".

·       Tekonsha trailer brake and trailer connector plug below bed, next to spare tire.

·       Professional chain bar oiling of underbody and door panels every year or two, stopping rust

·       Rust Free except for parts that move such as springs, newly replaced parts, excessive washing.

·       Apply grease or Permatex Anti Seize graphite lube any place where rust is likely to appear.

·       Every fueling, added Ford Genuine Motorcraft PM-22-A Cetane Booster and Performance Improver. Lubricates system and keeps injectors for easy start every time.

·       Every winter fueling, added Motorcraft PM 23A Anti-Gel and Performance Improver in Winter.

·       Differential Fluid changed every 100 k miles.

·       Under Valve Cover glow plug harness replace periodically. 2-3X. Ford design weakness.

·       Always serviced and inspected on time in one shop over the past 20 years starting at 90k miles.

·       Transmission Filter and Synthetic oil change by professional every 80-100 k miles.

·       Timken top of the line sealed drive shaft u-joints always checked and replace if needed.

·       Wheel bearings always checked and replaced if needed.

·       Always used stock sized, 235/85 R16 Michelin tires till now (no longer available) with balancing and alignment done at one shop.

·       Always washed body and underbody after winter driving on salted roads.

·       Always run with Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-40 till recently changed to newly available Rotella fully synthetic 15W-40 (no longer in freezing temps.) Mostly changed every 5k mi., never over 8k miles. Oil lubricating additives in oil get used up around 8k mi with the Power Stroke.

·       Always used K&N HP6001 Oil Filter and Changed when oil was changed. Usually, date of change written on filter with mileage. Various replacement parts have date replacement written on them.

 

INCLUDED EXTRAS

 

·       Original Ford factory intake in shed. (if you want to return to stock).

·       Original Block Heater, see plug visible, zip tied to grill for easy access.

·       Cam sensor and 10mm wrench in glove box. Known Power Stroke failure point. If truck shuts off for no reason, this is the culprit. Sensor located under harmonic balancer. 80-100k mi typical time of failure. Replaced 2-3X.

·       Timing belt spare behind seat. Changed every 80k mi. Periodic maintenance when dry cracking appears.

SELLER’S NOTES

 

Transmission Problems:

 

1) Intermittent Cruise Control: Replacing the cruise control contact cam will resolve this issue. This problem does not occur unless you use the cruise control.

 

2) Edge Revolver CTS3 Tuner Upgrade: Warming the truck up till the engine temp gauge is moving toward warm allows normal shifting.

Mechanical condition was top priority to ensure towing reliability, especially while transporting horses, and preventing rust.  Therefore, have not fixed cosmetic items like cracking plastic, droopy headliner, and oil-stained carpet from rust prevention oiling. One exception, to those who drive long distances, to make cruise control work well, the steering wheel contact cam needs replacement.  Rough roads cancel cruise control in present condition. The first 100k was driven by a snowbird on unsalted roads in warm climates. 

 

This truck runs best on the highway at 62 mph and gets the best economy.  This truck has been stock until late 2022.  On the first big trip, unloaded, just after the CTS3 tuner, S&B intake and MBRP exhaust were installed, I got 29 mpg!  On my way to Florida for winter.  Normally, I get 16 mpg Towing and 20 mpg Town.

 

Original Paint (Blue with White rockers) with following exceptions:

Passenger side bed dented by winter snow remover, replaced with new panel, and painted with new 4x4 sticker. This paint still looks great.

White Chip Guard added to rockers. Rust stains appearing around bolts where seal broke paint.

Roof. Repainted long after and by different business. Fading and chipped. EPA paint?
