Crosley was a small, independent American Auto manufacturer of Subcompact cars starting all the way back in 1939, and was active until 1952 with the interruption of WWII, that was probably the beginning of the end. However, Crosley had a lot of firsts, not to mention a American Microcar. A couple of some "firsts" is that they were the first affordable, mass market car with overhead camshafts, the first term of the "Sports-Utility" and the first to be fitted with a 4-wheel caliper type disc brakes just to mention a few. They were also very light-weight making them fuel-efficient.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this unique piece of American automotive history for your consideration. This little blue 1949 Station Wagon is in remarkably nice condition for its age and stature. The paint quality is quite nice overall and the body is very nice. The 4 cylinder runs as it should and the manual transmission shifts properly. The chrome remains in good condition.
These little cars are super unique, and many influential people such as Dwight Eisenhower, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Nelson Rockefeller were all noteable owner. It will be quite hard to find such another example that is this nice. These little Crosley's aren't well known but sure are A Fine Car.
