Nissan was a relatively small automaker when it entered the international market in the 1960's and partnered with Yamaha to design a new sports car prototype to update the Nissan Fairlady. Nissan executives saw the prototype as a halo car that would improve their company's image in the minds of consumers. By 1964, Nissan realized that Yamaha's DOHC 2.0-liter engine was not meeting Nissan's expectations and the project was scrapped. Enter the Datsun 240Z, and the rest is history.
For consignment, an original 1994 Nissan 300ZX, with a powerful 3.0 Liter V6 engine and a leather interior. In very good condition, well cared for. The perfect entry level classic sports car with a buzz.
Exterior
A smoked glass "T" topped version, that is covered in Black Emerald Pearl Metallic, (dark green). Paint retains its shine, and has a few flaws in the form of stone chips, inclusions along with orange peel and the usual dents and dings, but very slight in nature. Aero non hidden headlights, an integrated bumper and grille, consistent gaps, and a spoiler, are very clean, this car is in good condition. Aerodynamic curves, and glass that works with steel to create beautiful lines, accentuate the speed of the car even when it is standing still. Standard alloy wheels are noted all around.
Interior
Camel tan leather buckets within a tan vinyl interior in very clean condition are seen with a pop of the "T" top or a swing of either door. Sitting in these seats you are immediately grabbed and in a good way. Strap in and turn the key, and watch the gauges come to life, and listen to the high pitch of horsepower being produced. 2 "pods" flank the instrument cluster and provide ergonomic controls for climate, power seats, wipers, and defrost on one side, and on the other rear window defog, cruise control, lighting, and dimming toggles. A Kenwood digital AM/FM/CD is in the center of the dash, and this is surrounded by black vinyl and stitched leather panels. A center matching console houses the 5-speed short throw shifter, and power side view mirror controls. Everything at your fingertips so you don't have to take your eyes off the road while speeding down it! Gold carpeting with some stains and soils is covering all the floors, even in the back storage area.
Drivetrain
A naturally aspirated 3.0 liter V6 putting out 222hp is within the clean, but showing some patina engine bay. This power plant is a twin cam 24 valve version and sports EFI. A 5-speed transmission is strapped on the back, and the rear axle is 4.08 gear ratio.
Undercarriage
Some spotty surface rust on a few parts, but certainly unremarkable as to structural stability. Cracking and delamination of the driver's side muffler is noted. Frame and floor pans are in good condition. Seen are newer adjustable shock and mostly clean smooth ground effects panels underneath along with 4-wheel power disc ABS brakes.
Drive-Ability
If you have a penchant for going fast, and having a car that is a real curve carver, then look no further. Classic Japanese engineering and quality of build is seen here in spades. Our test track was no match for this sports car, and it carved it up like a Thanksgiving turkey. All functions were working together to make the car go fast, and come to a screeching halt...(well, not literally).
A nice example, with some miles accumulated on the clock, but well maintained with a recent oil change, and timing belt at 165K. The smoked glass T tops, and wonderful green, you too can have the luck of the Irish, Japanese style!
