Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1976 Kawasaki KZ900 LTD! Coming out of the 60s Honda was clearly dominating the market. Kawasaki wanted to challenge the mighty CB750 and released the Z-1 in 1973. To further distance themselves outside of performance, Kawasaki wanted to deliver an American Hot Rod appearance. In 1976, Kawasaki announced the KZ900, in particular the KZ900LTD. This bike cemented itself in history as being first to market to offer such styling and sheer performance. Truly earning the LTD badge, only 5000 of these legends were ever made for the global market, and only 2000 of those were sent to America. Now is your chance to own an icon. This '76 KZ900 LTD is striking and has a great ownership history. The Sun Burst Red paint looks great. The black vinyl seat is in nice order. The fierce 900cc engine was factory rated at 81hp and could rev up to 8500rpm. Power is transitioned down through a 5-Speed Manual transmission. Factory weight was 540lbs so the power to weight ratio made for a very fun time! More than that, it was fast enough that it was the King of motorcycles in 1976! Both engine and transmission have been rebuilt and were finished in 2013. 800 miles has elapsed since the powertrain restoration. Current owner has had her for over 39 years and acquired her from the original owner, making this just a 2-owner ride! Odometer shows 17k miles and is believed actual. Receipt(s) of the powertrain restoration goes with this motorcycle. Also comes with some original items/parts; Jardine pipes, owners manual, took kit, header, and Kerker Exhaust. [ omitted ].
