Extremely Well Taken Care Of 2002 GMC Safari SLT AWD.
This Van Not Only Has The Tow Package But Has Tow / Haul Function That Adjusts The Transmission For Heavy Loads But This Van Has Never Towed Anything In The Decades My Father Owned It.
My Dad Passed Away In April This Year At 87 Years Old But He Always Garaged This Van and Did All The Services Mostly Himself While He Could, I'm Not Talking About Oil Changed, He Did All The Services Including Gear Boxes, Transfer Case Etc.
He Loved This Van! I Love Them Too And Have a 1995 AWD Or I Would Up Grade To This Gold Van Because My AC Is Not Working! I have Owned 4 Of These ASTRO/FARI Vans And All Went 400-500K Miles Before Rusting Out Underneath And The Engines Never Used A Drop Of Oil And Never A Transmission Problem!
The Last Two Pictures Are Of My White Astro Van and All I Have Done To Keep It From Ever Rusting Out.
So Back To Dad's Van: He Became Bed Ridden A Few Years Ago So I Began Taking Care Of His Vehicles (2)
I Replaced The Battery, I Replaced The Tires, Changed The Oil And Just Inspected It a Few Months Ago When I Put It My Name.
(3) Things Come To My Attention, The Rear Upper Door Lift Shocks Work But Are In My Opinion Weak And I Just Replaced Mine For about 50 Bucks, The AC Works But As We Had 100 Degree Days I Know It Could Better Having Front And Rear AC So It Needs A Boost Of Refrigerant Not A Reclaim And Refill $179. It Has No AC Leaks Or Would Not Work At All And Is Not Short Cycling.
 (3) The Van Has No Donut Spare, Long Story But My Father Years Ago Had Came Up With An Idea That Wrapping His Donut In A Bag To Prevent It From Rusting Out Like They All Do In New England Was A Good Idea But In Order To Put The Tire Winch Bracket Through The Tire Bag And Lock It To The Rim Makes A Hole In The Top Of The Bag Allowing Water, Salt Etc. Into The Bag That Never Dries Out So The Rim Of The Spare Rusted Over The Years (We Argued About That) If You See A Donut Spare In The Pictures It Was My Tire From My 1995 He Took After Finding Out I Was Right. I Took My Tire Back And His Went To The Junk Yard.
You Can Put A Full Size Tire In There But That Is Very Heavy For The Winch, I Have AAA So I Would Just Call Them To Flat Bed Me Home If I Ever Got A Flat and Fix It At Home. Not EZ To Find A Donut That Isn't Rusted Out In New England,
Also: If You Look At The Pictures I Posted, His Leather Rear Bench Is In My Basement And The Rear Seat Pictured Came From One Of My Other Vans So All The Original Leather Seats Come With The Van Not The Fold Down Pictured Rear Bench, The Leather Ones Do Not Fold Down Nor Do The Seats In My 1995 But Being Able To Fold Them Down Is A Handy Feature And That's Why He Wanted My Rear Seat From My Other Van Many Years Ago And Now I Want It For My 1995. And Want The 2002 Leather One Out Of My Basement.
The Only Reason I Feel I Need My 1995 Is My 10 Year Old German Shepherd Can Get Right In This Van And I Removed The Middle Bench So He Has A living Room And No Other Vehicle Has That Option So We Call It "HIS VAN"!
Dad's Van: Shifts, Runs, Drives, Steers And Runs Like New And The Last Thing Dad Did Was Replace The Starting Motor. The Window Motors Are Fast And I Think Original? A Very Common Problem With These Vans So Keeping The Tracks Clean With Silicon Can Make The Last 100% Longer And A Task To Change.
Also: These Have Maybe 15 Grease Fittings In Front That Need To Be Cleaned Prior To Pumping Sand And Dirt Into The Ball Joints And Jiffy Lube ETC. Could Care Less? I Do All My Own Repairs As Well Because Dealer Mechanics Are Rushed As A Numbers Game And Causing Problems Is More Money In The Future. Better To Not Have Grease Fittings Than To Pump Sand In Them!
I Undercoated My 1995 (Last Picture), Wheels Off 18 Large Cans Of Undercoat $200 For The Cans, A Local Undercoat Shop Will Undercoat Your Vehicle For $220.00 In Less Than 1 Hour, If You Look After The Job, Nothing Other Than What Can Be Seen From Under The Is Coated With Anything, If You Want It Done Right Do It Yourself, Plus There Are Things You Don't Want Undercoated Like Plugs Etc, Try Getting Them Off With Globs Of Under Coating Glued Together.
I Left My Dads Van All Original To Show What You Would Be Undercoating! Rust And Rotted Are Not The Same Thing, Rust Is A Color Rot Is Beyond Prevention, If You Undercoat Flaking Metal The Flakes Brake Off And Continue To Rust   And So Many Of These Vans Have No Undercarriage Pictures, They Always Look Nice Until You Look Under The Car. Many Of These Vans Look New Underneath If Not From New England And The Salt Belt But People Say That All The Rubber Is Dried Out If From Arizona Or California Etc.
All Cars Look Nice On Top But All Raw Steel! So This Van Is Being Sold For A No Reserve Of 9,700 As It Was Listed Elsewhere For 12 And Attracted Many Tire Kickers Wanting It As Cheap As Possible Saying It's 22 years Old But A Toyota Corolla With The Same Mileage Sells For 9K FWD, A Jeep Is Junk at 100K Miles!
Todays Standard Is: After Your Payments Stop You Begin Renting In Repair Charges Of Thousands. Lets Give Them More Camera's And Bigger Screens But Nothing To Prevent RUST! Mother Nature Is A Friend To car Manufactures.
So My Dad Bought A Honda Pilot 2012 And He Hated That!  After He Died I Went To Honda To See What I Could Trade It In For A new Passport And Both Service And Sales Said To Never Trade For The New Disposable Trash, The Passport Looks Nice I Must Say But $50 Thousand! And An Astro/Fari Will Long Out Live Any Car On The Planet Earth. Auto Pilot For Those That Don't Like The Inconvenience Of Driving But They Do Have Busses.
Anyway: I Left Plenty Of Room For More Pictures So Feel Free To Ask Me To Add More Of Specific Areas And Fell Free To Ask Questions.
Shipping Is The Buyers Responsibility Or Drive It Home To California These Vans Love To Be Used And If Left Sitting Develop Problems With Gaskets Both Engine And AC.
Never Any Accidents, Zero Bondo. All Original Paint, Just Above The Passenger side Rear Tire There Is An Area That Has Little Bubbles, Its Very Common On These That Have Body Cladding, Some Do And Some Don't get This But In The Past I Sanded The Bubbles Off And Used 5 Minute Epoxy And Filled Any Imperfection Sanded And Primed And Painted It With Factory Code Paint And Never Seen Anything Again For A Decade.

This Van Was Sitting (Garaged) For About 2 Years Once My Dad Couldn't Drive But I Started It Every Few Months To Make Sure The AC Gaskets Didn't Dry Out. Like I Said The AC Works But I Know It Could Be Better, I Have The Gauges and Refrigerant But With Out My Brother To Supervise I Don't Want To Attempt To Add. My Refrigerant Doesn't Have Lubricant's! So Adding A Little To Lubricated Refrigerant Is Ok But Not To Refill Because It Needs Lubricant Or The Compressor Will Seize.

Payment Must Be Cleared Prior To Sale Or Vehicle Pickup And A $500 Deposit At Auction End
