About this vehicle

For Sale: The Ultimate Driving Machine I am seeking an E39 enthusiast to be the next steward of this 1999 BMW 540i Sport. This car is a driver (as it should be :-) and runs and drives as it should. It' been a pleasure to own, but I am leaving the country and need to find the car a new home. No accidents and clean title in hand. Clean CarFax available. Although the car is nearly 26 years old, it still runs and drives like a $50k+ car. I bought the car in 2017 and have put $12k into the car in maintenance and upkeep, including full synthetic liquid molly oil changes every 3k miles. I have over $11K in service records on hand for you. There are a few cosmetic issues that come with the territory of a 25+ year old car, but overall it is in better than average condition - all around and is a true sport model. The original owner installed M5 front and rear bumper covers, and a Magna Flow exhaust system that purrs beautify. A dummy set of Magna Flow pipes was added on the other side to balance the look and fill out the M5 bumper cover and carbon fiber diffuser. A short M shifter was also installed. The DSC light is on. I sent the ABS module out to get rebuilt and shortly after I reinstalled it, the DSC light came on intermittently. Now it's on. I think it's related to the ABS Module service. I can answer any questions you have. Engine: 4.4L DOHC 32-valve V8, delivering 282 horsepower Transmission: 6-speed manual transmission Exterior Color: Aspen Silver Metallic Interior Color: Gray leather with wood trim Six-speed manual transmission Heated front sport seats - real leather Sunshades on back passenger windows and rear window Dynamic Stability Control (DSC III) Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) Mixed-width radial style alloy wheels with 235/45R-17 (front), 255/40R- Aluminum double-pivot strut-type front suspension Aluminum 4-link integral rear suspension
