There are lots of ways to hurtle your body down a dragstrip, but few are as terrifying, exhilarating, and soul satisfying as with a front-engined dragster. Talk to enough slingshot pilots-from the 2,500-plus-horsepower nostalgia top fuel boys to weekend bracket racers running 400hp carb'd small-block econo rails-and they'll all say that you can keep your wheelstanding nitrous door-slammers, buzzing sport compacts, and even blur-fast superbikes. The real deal is sitting inches away from the flywheel of a screaming V8 feeding its torque to an axle housing situated directly between your legs, with only a thinly padded tin seat separating your ass from the asphalt at anywhere from 150 to 250mph. That's drag racing! ..Thx Matt King Hot Rod Magazine
For consignment, a "slingshot" or "rail" straight liner. From the days of front engine configuration, this long tube frame high octane gas fired car was purchased as a promotional car for an engineering company however little else is known of this car's history with the name of Rattler.

Leading the way are 17-inch chromed wire wheels wrapped in tiny 2.50x17's. A small wing is on to help keep the front end on the ground. Moving back a long steel tube frame has a stainless fuel tank in the center and this feeds the mill through braided stainless tubing. Of course the star of the show is a supercharged 392ci Hemi V8. It has fuel injection and a 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Headers are on either side with curved pipe exits. Just behind the engine is another small wing and this is perched on the body of the car which is a basic tub. It is painted in white, gold and red and RATTLER is across the top of the bodywork. A small curved windshield is framing the front of the driver's cockpit. Here we see the small steering wheel, shift light tachometer and shift lever, a Ford 9 inch rear axle for the driver to straddle, and a black vinyl bomber style bucket seat. This all resides under a roll cage on top. The driver can look out to 15-inch aluminum slots wrapped in big 31x12.50-15 drag strip slicks. On the back is a chute to bring it all to a stop after the tree starts your run.
Our test track is not set up for a quarter mile test so we did not attempt any runs, although the car runs.
You can only imagine yourself hurtling down the quarter mile looking over to your opponent and concentrating on that stripe at the end, maybe even getting up to 200mph in that space of asphalt. Smoke 'em!
